Hopefully phar lives in a place with aircon to do that!
I'm practically dying here at 28 degrees which is crazy crazy hot for where I live. Today I was lying on the dog's cooling mat.

Same problem. Has been 42C today so I've stayed indoors with ac. Exercise physiologist has been, but all of his activities can be performed in the home.

You American ladies have put me to shame. Hearing your health exploits is good, I like listening, and imagining, and hope some of it will rub off on me.

I suspect Phar, like me, avoids stairs. I moved into a 1-level house 15 years ago, because of knee problems I’ve had since I was in my forties. While I can manage a few stairs with a handrail, I wouldn’t attempt stair climbing as an exercise. It would do more harm then good.

And yes, Fish, just saw your post. My current home does have one of those split system things on the wall which I use in summer. In winter I use the air conditioning which doesn’t have a thermostat so I turn it on and off when necessary. It is only for warmth, not cooling.
Having lived without a partner since the end of 1990, I have rented plenty of places without air conditioning or heating so I am very grateful for where I live now.

I know this is hard for you, and changing habits is not easy. It all boils down to how much you really WANT to get healthier. We can give you all the advise in the world – like setting a time, and walking in the house for three minutes and so on – but if you don’t actually do it it won’t help.
Also I think working with a nutritionist on your eating habits will help you greatly – just las week I saw a post where you mentioned about which icecream to eat – stuff like that will just make things worse and worse. Its simply calories in and out. I didn’t want to say anything, but now that you posted about your struggles again I will try one last time.
Only YOU can change your habits, become healthier and – to be blunt – live longer. Because your current lifestyle will shorten the quality of your life, and the length f the time you live. Brutal but true.
I don’t know about resources in AUS but what needs to come first is a real will to change – and I haven’t seen that, every few months you post about your health issues, mobility issues, wight issues – get replies and ideas, but nothing changes.
Only you can make the changes you need to – to be honest – not being able to walk more than 3 meters without getting out of breath is super scary. You are still able to turn things around, but there will come a point where it is too late.

I didn’t know whether to put this here or start a new thread. Might as well add it here and everyone else please add yours here as well. Although fighting to keep one’s eyes even could be restrictive. Iffen I add “et al” that should do the trick - yes?
Right been there, did that, now it’s open season!
I feel cold and shivery a bit. When I turn my head, I feel a little dizzy. I need to get up and close the front door. I needed to do thisnages ago. It is still open. If I get up there are other things I must do too. I also have another one of my headaches.

Question - are you PHYSICALLY able to get up to close the front door? In which case you need medical attention. feeling cold and shivery, dizzy, headaches - if you are really physically not able to move this could be some serious shit. Is there anybody close by whom you could call to check on you?
Or are you unable to motivate yourself get up?

So instead you post here as if we're going to do anything for you. Call an ambulance.

I thought you had CHF (maybe not?) or COPD or asthma so could be that admittedly but you need some support. Serious comment and you absolutely don't need to answer or respond but if you aren't getting home help or other additional support i think you need it.

What fishface said, and I back this up with personal experience this year when a 000 call at 4am led to a rushed trip to hospital in an ambulance and 12 days in intensive care.
Advice I'd received from a visiting DVA nurse earlier that week had been to always keep my mobile phone within reach. That advice probably saved my life.

I had a doctor appointment this morning as it happens. The health issues are not new, although the shivery bit is, it seems to have passed now.
Losing weight will help, and I’ve an appointment next Tuesday for an exercise type person, a diabetes person and there was someone else I think but I don’t remember who or what, it is for. The exercise person will help determine which exercise I should do that would best suit me.
Ow darn it, this is where having money comes in. You can have your own private gym person, trainer work with you several times a week. Can’t type any more. Not sitting in a good position, hunched over, legs apart on a low stool for the iPad is really not good. And so, I shall bid you good day.

Phar - MyAgedCare www.myagedcare.gov.au/ covers that kind of treatment (not free, but very affordable - the wonderful physio they sent me to cost $13 a visit).

Like usually you didn't answer my question - are you actually not physically able to walk three meters or not able to motivate yourself to get up and walk a few meters regularly to build up some strength?

I knew you would not answer the question - seriously, I feel like bashing my head against the wall phar. You post stuff, and if anybody asks something yo don't like you just disappear. I don't know why I even bother replying.
