I love revisiting old albums.
KT Tunstall's new album SLAYS me, it's so beautiful. She is an amazing songwriter. Invisible Empire.

KT Tunstall's new album SLAYS me, it's so beautiful. She is an amazing songwriter. Invisible Empire. Oh I have to look that up. I loved KT Tunstall's first album. I met her and Newton Faulkner in the pub after, they were lovely. I'm LOVING the Arctic Monkey's new album!

Loving Death cab for cutie's demo album, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, and Laura Mvula. And Dessa!
Are any of you using Rdio?

I'm a huge fan of Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. I think this Jimblah, an Australian Indigenous Hip Hop Artist, sounds a lot like them and his themes are as powerful.
Otherwise I'm hugely into LORDE right now. She's an amazingly talented 16 year old Kiwi. Anyone else a fan?
Oh and I LOVE this song by the Wombats:

put on some music I hadn't listened to for a really long time: Broken Social Scene/Kevin Drew. Wow. SO good. I don't think I liked it as much when I got it as now that I hear it again.
oh, and cross fingers please: sent in an email for a draw for Arcade Fire tickets in Brussels next weekend. I REALLY want to go.

She did register and make a brief appearance the other week. Hopefully she sticks around this time.

Ok, not a Monday, but this video for one of my favourite songs of last year was released on Monday. Which is good, I saw the band on Sunday and did record a bit of this song, but my copy is super dodgy. Here is the crowd on Sunday: It was very squishy, incredibly hot and scarcely any room to dance, but everyone was happy. And here is the video - I love it.

I'm listening to the Pinkpop festival livestream today - on now: Mastodon. seriously, I can listen to a lot of music but if there's one genre I don't get: heavy metal. wtf. it sounds as if they've been playing the same song for an hour now.... (the main stage has a metal programming, building up to Metallica closing off tonight, which is one of the bands who actually do something good with metal).

It's not Monday, but if I hear 'Mas Que Nada' one more time linked to the World Cup... I like the song but you'd think it was the only song ever to come out of Brazil. 70s funk-influenced - Seu Jorge I like this remix of Maracatu Atomico (Gilberto Gil) link

not Monday, but I've been listening to this playlist a lot the past two weeks: the #1 song from each year for the past 30 years, according to my favourite Dutch music platform. This comes pretty close to the best songs from that time in my view too. Love it.

time to resurrect this thread for some new discoveries from the weekend. especially Oddisee & Torres. very good. Oddisee was amazing live this weekend. Torres's gig wasn't as good but the music stuck, so got the CD - happy to find that is a lot stronger than her performance was!
