you may remember a 'famous couple' thread. we've gone with those two. the man has decided he'll wear a toga-esque thing with some soldier stuff, despite absolutely not images of ancient greek soldier guys wearing togas. he's pointed out that if he goes by the paintings, we'll be banned for his public nudity. so i found a long blue shiny dress and i'll wrap some gold cord around that and get a gauze shawl and superglue some sparkly stuff on, and costume sorted for me too. but hair. how the heck does one get that hair, minus several tons of product? i'm not ashamed to admit that my inspiration is ancietn greece barbie, as seen here... consumingantiquity.blogspot.com/2010/11/greek-princess-barbie.html

Go "Ancient Greece Barbie". I love that she is your inspiration.

hair = wig?? otherwise, tease the crap out of it and bobby pin it in as best you can. get pictures early in the evening and then don't care when it starts to sag.

Paris wasn't Greek. And Helen was not "of Troy." Which might help w/ costumes!

well, we're not exactly going for historical accuracy here--neither one of us is as good-looking as the original, for starters. we began by looking at painting/statues, and then history sites, but it was so much easier to go with barbie and stereotypes.
