Poppy, he must be very different to you! he certainly is! Went back to the computer a short while ago, complained he still had to wait 2 hours, yep it was only about an hour ago when you discovered you had a 3 hour wait. So finding this funny.

Not sure whether to laugh or be sad. Sent for my great-grandfather's death certificate to fill in some family history. He died in 1909 at the age of 71, cause of death is listed as 'old age', which made me laugh, but then there was another word under that which I couldn't quite make out. Eventually figured out that it was 'neglect'. Not so funny - he had no less than 10 adult children alive at the time of his death so what went on in the family at that time is anybody's guess.

In the group of 16/17 yr olds i'm teaching right now, there's a boy who is a dead ringer for Tom Cruise--face, hair, eye colour. he even has a very similar smile.
all the staff who work with him are finding it disconcerting, like expecting the real tom cruise to suddenly appear.

Has he jumped on the couch yet? (Rather dated Cruise reference).
My thing: laugh or cry. I'm seeing parts of my head that have not been visible since I was a baby.

a. and her friend using complicated expressions, and then a's friend asking "do you even know what that means?" and a. says yes, but then gives a wrong explanation, so the friend goes on to correct her in an important voice - giving a wrong explanation too, of course ...

Laughing at myself. I pulled into the service station after work to get petrol, before setting out on my road trip. Went into the office to pay for my snacks and drink, but I'd forgotten to fill the van with petrol.

We're on holiday. An email has just come through from my 85yr old f-i-l, starting with an apology because he's not sure his Internet package allows him to send emails outside the UK. We're pretty sure he's not joking.

well yeah, think about it - one of the first questions about Bielefeld is usually "have you ever actually been there? or met someone who has been there?" so far, i always said i had met someone who claimed to have been living there for several months. now, however, your article sheds a new light on him - because he also claimed to be Australian. i think this can't be a coincidence.

this morning when we were leaving the Dr's office, a person attempted to drive into a parallel park and hit the gutter extremely hard, think loud scrunching sound. TB went back and watched as the person reversed out, during this time he noticed an easier car park directly opposite in the centre parking strip. As he does, he pointed this parking spot out to the driver, who took it. In the meantime, a more accomplished driver in a larger car reversed into the parking spot as easy as 1.2.3. and was given the thumbs up by my delightful parking officer!
