I’m starting to troll on NZ travel sites… still a daydream but at least a possibility!

Totally agree with Hal, and I still have a spare bed.

And I continue to look.. my mind is spinning, so many ideas! It must be because it’s been a few years since I’ve traveled. To rent a car or not? Now I’m thinking of a bus pass. Looks ways easier .. and a couple of the places I’d like to drive to are off limits to rentals (insurance issues). My friend in Kerikeri is super helpful with ideas and offers of drives here and there…and I want to head over to Mt. Taranaki .. and Rotorura.. and so many interesting places…good thing it’s just playing around time! If I was really planning my trip now, I’d be pulling my hair out…

I'll drive when you get to taranaki but can't go mountain walking, but can probably get someone whose Instagram we follow to take you.

Who - I doubt Sophie will be able to go Mountain walking either, she's just had knee surgery.

Kneazle.. I’m being optimistic I’d be able to do some of it.. my NZ friend in Kerikeri who had a knee replacement last yesterday is off trekking in the Himalayas next year.. and she is my age…

There's a nice gentle walk on a well graded and boarded walk up to Wilkies pools that is very pretty with great views. I used to do it regularly with visitors , and a replaced knee, until my lungs decided to misbehave. Dawson falls is mainly steps and I wouldn't advise that.
