While I sometimes have meals from a frozen meal service and have them available for bad days, picked up one in the supermarket . Yes it said contains garlic. What it didn't say was not only will it scare off vampires for the next year, but also my co workers. Garlic needs to be graded on the packaging the same as chilly. Mild...acceptable for kisses or co workers. Med..only if you work in isolation. Hot..only if you share with partner or want to sleep on your own. I now stink. So does my house and the rubbish bin.

60% pissing me off and 40% making me laugh
A review of a new (well two-years-old but new to me) adaptation of "The Pursuit of Love" on YouTube.
From a review I want to understand whether I will enjoy watching the show.
Instead dude spends most of his time giving a family history of the author of the original book and complaining that the family seem to be famous for no good reason, and how 2 of her sisters were Hitler fans, and how the author wrote another book called "U and non U" as a guide to class (Which she wrote as a JOKE), and how the writer isn't as good as Evelyn Waugh. And I still don't know anything about the adaptation beyond the clip he shows in the beginning - which tells me quite a lot but only because I know the book rather well.
I'm starting to suspect he just hates the writer.

There was an incredible dance scene if I remember rightly.

Yes, Andrew Scott aka the Hot Priest doing a very unlikely sexy Lord Merlin number.
From the shorts it looks like a modern take and a wild trip, not particularly faithful to the original but still with a lot to enjoy.
But say that - rather than just being grumpy about the writer's sisters!

Agree - Still going to watch it He's superb in Pride, absolutely heart-breaking as the gay man whose family abandoned him.

According to Australia Post tracking my parcel has now reached Casino (around 80 minutes drive away) and I'll have it by about Wednesday of next week. I expect that it will come via Lismore, Mullumbmby and Byron Bay.
Like so many of us on this branch it will be well travelled.

Just had a 30 minute lessons with someone whose net connection was terrible. I haven't had that much interference in years. I still have a headache.

Ikea has changed their Billy shelf colours, so the one we ordered to match the five we already have is nothing like them.
Phone person says, "ah, well, maybe a different batch? not our fault.." but like, the ones we have are orange-ish, and this one is gray-ish? So they'll refund the shelves, but not the delivery fee (£40), and they will charge us to come and collect it (£25).
It had to be delivered because our car is too small, so we can't return it either. Someone is selling what we want on Marketplace, but again, our car is too small to collect it.
Of all the people we know with a car that can fit the shelves, we don't know any of them well enough to ask them to drive us all the way to Ikea (35 minutes each way), or to this other house (20 minutes each way).

I have a big enough car to fit the shelves and would be happy to help, but shipping myself and a car to Scotland would be so expensive that you might as well just have custom shelves built

Likewise - I have two cars that would do the job (and an 18 year old grand daughter who thinks that this is grossly unfair) but, alas, as we once said of girls who lived at Watsons Bay, Edinburgh is GI.
Roof racks?

Sloping hatchback. Seriously, I could hook a trailer up to my little e-bike, it would be better than our car.

Get 4 people with bikes to drag the trailer together like horses pulling a carriage

so, partner found one on FB in the right colour, offered them money to bring it here, and from initial contact to drop off was about 50 minutes--and she's a 25 minute drive away. his Twitter post successfully shamed Ikea into allowing for a return without the extra charges, so winning all over!
But the neighbour fixing our toilet has discovered that the person who installed it did a bad bodge job instead of taking the time and money to do it properly, and now he's struggling to fix it. If we get another toilet (why??), we'll have to drill a hole in the wall and change the exterior drain pipe.

The electricity in my street is going off for most of the day. The upside is we get to eat out for breakfast and lunch at least.

They are putting water meters in our street. Blurb said will let you know etcetera. They didn't. Now my cars one side of the hole. My work a drive away on the other. Rang them. No reply. Neighbour works for council and will put some temporary tracking in and take my car out as I'm a bit cagey about driving on the tracks. Darned annoying. I was out all day when this happened and had been picked up by family.

Seems like a good excuse to not have to go into the office, at least That would be nice, but there's been some rather major problems, which have now become my problems, and I'd just fret knowing they were building up. I have commitments today or I would have gone in to clear some of the backlog.

I'm hopeless Liisa. Love most of my job, and get really involved with helping them to be successful..then wonder why I'm tired sometimes. HR sent out her quarterly whose come whose gone and once again, 4 in a row, I've retired, except this time my names spelt incorrectly.

I placed an order online, something from China. Weeks went by. I emailed Customer Service. They sent a tracking number immediately, which stalled and stalled. Now the tracker says my package was delivered. IT WAS NOT!!! No porch-pirates around here. I have no idea which delivery service they used, or whether the whole thing was a scam - only about $50, which is why I decided risk it. I have once again emailed Customer Service, but fear I'm out of luck. Damn - it was something I really needed. grump & groan, bitch & moan

It's giving white middle class first wave feminism vibes and I cannot.
