Somehow we have started a Christmas tradition of watching Love Actually. I always cry at the same bits. It's also funny to see how some of the actors in the smaller roles have become really famous (martin freeman!)

For the first time in a long time I had a 'tear-free' Christmas Day! Yeh I was a little lonely but not dealing with the stress and upset was worth it

The Christmas cactus that belonged to my grandma who died in 1963 is not lost. I thought my uncle gave it to someone outside of the family. It has been with my 2nd cousin, who just turned it over to her mother. She asked if I want to take it over. Its monster size, will need help to move it if so. It is probably about 75 years old.

Yay witchy!
A 75 year old house plant, that would be an honor to possess.
Today is/was Friday. 'nuff said...

Also related to 75--the age of my cousin. The first movie that she ever got to see was The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. I think she might have been about 10. Anyway her aunt had to sneak her out to see it because her parents didn't believe in movies. My cousin & I went to the remake of it last night. She said she didn't remember anything about it at age 10 and was less than impressed last night. Not the point, it was just cool to do that together.

these are all lovely! especially the wrong number story.
speaking of old plants, there's a possibility we might get two shrubs from the man's parents, which were planted by his grandfather. i love old plants.

visited two couples in london and got to spend time with an adorably smiley little guy, and read him stories. also had lunch with best friend, and heard about excellent new job she starts in september--she really deserves some good stuff in her life.

Sprog1 has come into the office with me and is watching Black Beauty while I work. I keep having to go over and give her cuddles because she keeps getting so upset by the bad treatment of the horses. Love how sweet she is.

Aww that's lovely she's so sweet.
I went to the gym. I had the place to myself (actually that's normal- it's a workplace gym so not hugely busy). I had a good workout and came home planning to find training plans to get fitter. Anyone who wants to suggest sites would be great. I'm looking for dumbell programmes. Ok, maybe I will make another post!

i have planned out all the classes i need more monday, and at least one group i have sorted for the whole week, plus part of next.
i have refrained from going crazy designing extra resources outside the textbook. this will allow me to keep my time to myself.

Catching up on odd bits of chores...bit of sewing, bit of picture hanging, bit of ironing...the kind of stuff I don't do over holidays or company..
