Apologies if we have one of these threads already, but I don't seem to have seen one.
I already have three trips planned for the first half of the year; back to the UK in February, my cousin's wedding in Mallorca in June, and most excitingly Turkey in April/May. So pleased because I did almost no travel last year. So, what are your travel plans - firm or otherwise - for the year ahead?

Hmmm. Hopefully Japan and China at least once each, but as that will be for work I probably shouldn't count it.
Other than that, nothing....

Not much because it takes us 2 years saving for the next trip. Unfortunately it's a short and very expensive one but we think it'll be worth it.
But before that happens I do hope to make it to Sheffield for the cask beers in mid september.

2 short trips to Brisbane and a weekend on the Gold Coast in the next month, but they're sort of in the neighbourhood. Hopefully, Solomon Islands in June. Other possibilities, Jamup in NZ, or Fiji or Norfolk Island to visit friends.

possibly the london pissup to see cookie. i'm looking at my avios points and may be able to treat my partner and i to a weekend somewhere on the eurostar--maybe for his birthday as previous birthdays for him have been a bit lame.
and that's likely it. i am cleaned out from last year and in debt already. but there are lots of places near us that we haven't visited, and i've suggested we visit the man's parents more often.

No plans as yet - especially as work is so up in the air. One of my friends is talking about getting a group of us together to go to one of the islands for a few days

We'll be doing the trek back to the UK to visit family and friends (and friendly figjammers hopefully). And then we always give ourselves a little holiday from our holiday and are thinking about where to go - Spain/Portugal or Slovenia/Croatia are in discussion at the moment.

I wish I knew. I need to stop letting work travel dictate my other travel.

Belgrade in April then possibly Malaysia and Singapore sometime this year and finally I'll try for Christmas in Australia again as that little plan came unstuck last year......
Apart from that I really don't know.

I don't have any plans :-(
Although Dr W3 is talking about a quick week somewhere - not sure if that will come off given I won't have a job in six weeks.

1) Accompanying my mother on a cruise in May, which as we know isn't really a Liiisa sort of vacation but it will be nice to spend some time with her and sit around reading and staring at the sea for a while. I'll be in Glasgow for roughly 5 hours if anyone's there and wants to grab a pint (weeg? 'slim?)
2) And later in the summer on a trip to Montana with pero, which will be super lovely since mountains!

After last year's once in a lifetime trip to London and Europe, the kitty is empty and it will be a long time before I can go overseas again. But .... I am doing something I have wanted to do for a long time - doing the GOR. And I leave next Wednesday. This is the GORPhoto

Oh I do love the GOR! What a lovely part of the world.
For me, I don't think there'll be much travel this year, maybe the odd weekend away and I'm definitely going to try all out to meet up with my group of German friends at this year's Whitsunday Reunion (that's the date, not in the Whitsunday Islands, more's the pity).
One place I haven't been to and would really like to spend a weekend hiking in is the Brecon Beacons in Wales so hopefully that might be a springtime goal, once I have a job again and the finances are in better shape.
At some stage this year I absolutely have to get out to Australia again to see the family but how and when that will possibly happen I have no idea (lottery tickets?)
Oh, I like the sound of Hal's holiday-within-a-holiday destinations - do you need an extra LC-sitter?!?

We weren’t planning to go far away this year, until Chesh found an unbelievable flight deal - £255 rtn from Manchester to Buenos Aires via Frankfurt in July! (Similar offers still available here) It will be winter there then, so we're thinking of catching the bus up into Brazil and heading into the centre west (where it will still be warm) to see the Pantanal. So excited to go back to Brazil!

Wow, tucano, unbelievable! Green with envy at you going to Latin America. Are you flying Lufthansa from Frankfurt? I went that way, via Bs As, to Chile.

I just googled the Pantanal, what a remarkably beautiful place. And there are toucans too! Pea green with envy.

I'm very jealous reading this. We have no plans this year. I will go to South Korea later this month but it's 100% work with no free time. I will probably see airports and hotels only.
We are also talking about rebooking our Western Australia trip that we had to cancel last year but it's dependant on a few others things.

Jealous of all of you posting about trips to come in 2015. My travel plans are all on hold pending a possible job offer. Crossing my fingers I'll know one way or another by May. Would like to do some long weekend trips (San Francisco, Austin, Chicago) but The Man won't leave elderly Goofy Dog with anyone so if I do take any of those trips in Feb or March they'll be solo. In the meantime does 4 days at the ocean the end of this month count as travel?
