As I am one to change my mind sometimes, I found a better flight deal to Prague from Paris for Sept. 25-28.
So I have a flight booked.
I found a helpful thread on this city by searching here--sounds like tons of things to see. Any place you liked to stay in particular? I'm looking at AirBnB options too.

i stayed somewhere a bit further from the centre, also air bnb. it was under £20/night, private room, shared bath. it was quiet.

So there seems to be a fair share of warnings about the unscrupulous taxi drivers. Did anyone have one of those bad experiences? Or does that befall the rube-tourist types? Do they have any of the official que's like in Peru where there is someone at the head of the line who confirms how much it will cost you?

to be honest, i have no idea. i used the public transport everywhere i went.
i would assume that they will fleece you if you look fleeceable? i think some other people here used taxis.

I don't do taxi's that often, but was curious. Off subject, I know everyone has some vulnerability at some time or another to rip offs, but I don't know how many times I have walked behind touristy people with a bag open just waiting for a hand to dip in.

prague trams are great
we stay @ hotel 16, great breakfast, lovely fun staff
