It's hypocrisy because it's something that she has shown lack of, time and time again. It would be ironic if Boebert told her to stifle it. Well of course. But to them it's a feature, not a bug. I think I heard a track from Siberian Meat Grinder on the radio the other day, no lie

I sent a cute picture of fox cub ears to my partner to show his parents--it's a snap taken by our wildlife cam, just before it gets knocked over and dragged around.
Mother in Law replies, "cute! send me the seeds for that shrub in the background."

Dutch post now requires you to pay tax and fees on any parcel from outside the EU, which is a pain and it has opened the door for a delightful scam. So I just got a scam email asking me to confirm my address and pay a fee, but it's addressed to my email address which is not my name... and the parcel comes from Canada (a bit unlikely) but the bit that made me laugh... It's from

Well, actually, I think you'll find it's February Express--shortest month, shortest delivery times.
We have 3 fox cubs, and this morning one of them was hunting a pigeon. She was very stealthy, creeping on her belly across the lawn, full predator mode--until the pigeon took off.
At which point she shot backwards so fast she nearly fell over. To be fair, the pigeon was nearly as big as her. But even the adults seem spooked by flying pigeons.

Also, one of my neighbours posted on the community page that he's running a half marathon, and is raising money. He put lots of tags in there, but none to his giving page. So I asked where we could donate, as he's a nice guy who often does helpful things, and also I want to put my own fundraiser in there. Me: "where can I make a donation?" him: "thank you!!"

Someone asked for a pay rise - when his pay was looked into it turns out he's been over paid to the tune of $88k per year due to a payroll error. So no he's not getting a payrise.

That seems a fairly large "error"!
I got paid the wrong per deim rate when I lived in China. Wads of cash to fund my lavish lifestyle since accommodation was all taken care of. They found out when I had three months to go and had to ask me to change the terms of my contract. I did toy with saying no - but it would have been a CLM and bad karma.
(It wasn't my error and there isn't any way I could have known)

The call from an 'exhausted' LC who wanted to be picked up from school after spending 3 hours playing dodgeball.
It was a lesson free day at the school today, assembly in the morning and then various activities in the afternoon, and the school put on lunch for the kids (LC hoovered up 4 sausages, apparently). LC said about half his homeroom stayed home today (some would have been sick) but there was no way he was missing out on dodgeball!

Laughing even harder now - my incredibly tall Yr 9 child managed to get one of the extra sausages by going to the Yr 8 queue, which was being overseen by a teacher he had last year. He just smiled at her and she let him get away with it.

Effectively the person was being paid X per annum for all hours worked working 60 hours a week. Payroll went X divided down to an hourly rate x 60 x 52.
Yes Payroll messed up but he should also have realised that something didn't add up.

Right? I mean come on, you look at your bank account from time to time and realize that you magically have twice as much money as usual? I don't believe for a minute that he didn't know and wasn't just hoping no one else would notice.

Exactly. I got overpaid my first pay at my last job and I new there was little chance of getting away with it and it was better to own up early. As it turns out their payroll team was VERY incompetent and I got to the stage of not reporting things that worked in my favour - but we're talking a few hundred max not nearly $200k over time.
His mistake was asking for a pay rise.

Laughing at myself actually paying attention to prices at the grocery store in preparation for retirement. "Did you know those cans of cold-brew coffee that I like cost FOUR-NINETY-NINE A CAN," I say to pero in amazement, to which he's like "yeah that's why I don't drink that brand."

Today some colleagues revealed that Tesco Metro prices are more expensive than the normal Tesco prices. I thought it was funny that I didn't know this. I just assumed all Tesco items everywhere were the same.

I'd thunk that, but would never have dared to articulate it; it's an aversion that far transcends age or physical appearance. Ugliness can also be a moral issue.
