I think rum balls might be on the menu for a winter celebration here! Once I translate some of the cultural differences (icing sugar, oz to grams etc).
Christmas baking will be limited to gelato for dessert and mince pies for whenever. I've made my mince meat from a combination of interwebs recipe after somehow misplacing my 35 year old recipe!!! One of the interweb recipes for "traditional" mince meat went so far as to include beef mince. I really didn't want it that traditional!

I tried the cake - it's 2020, there are no rules anymore, don't @ me I was worried it'd be dry, and it's not!! It actually tastes like my mum's cake! (might not tell her that).

Liiisa , I made your rum balls! Vanilla wafer version. They're in the fridge to harden up a bit, but I tasted a couple. Yum! Thanks again for sharing the recipe!

I'm just afraid I'll eat too many of them. The packet of vanilla wafers I had was a bit smaller than Trader Joe's, so I went with the 2/3 version of your recipe, and I gave a bunch to a neighbor and another bunch to another neighbor, and may include some in a package I'm sending to a friend, but that still leaves a lot of rum balls

If you need a general guideline, I find that eating more than three begins to affect my productivity.
