How much do you pay for yours? Bras that is.. Today I was in the local shop at MP - Bras, garters, panties, nightwear etc. As I don’t have pinheads for boobs, I rang yesterday to see if they had stock around my size. As the last time I went bra shopping was just before covid, and I have put on weight, I had no idea what size I was. Was served by a very nice lady called M who in a very short time had me in a Goddess Kayla, she gave me two sizes, the second was my size. Tried another no good. Gave me a Goddess Sport GD8912BSN perfect fit this one was not under wired. Left it on, wore it home. $184.00 later am very pleased and happy I have two proper fitting bras. It makes such a difference to what I’d been in before. I will be purchasing another when they get more stock in. Ah…..the serenity of a well fitting bra!

I have just realised I can barely reach behind to undo my bra and how on earth am I going to put it on tomorrow without help? The sales lady asked was there anyone to help me do it up tomorrow and when I answered no, suggested adding the bra extender on just until the bra softens and stretches. Which she then went on to say the bra wouldn’t be properly fitting then.
Does anyone here have advice on this? I can barely reach the bra bits to unhook it but hooking or doing it up will present a real challenge.
Any ideas? All advice greatly appreciated.

Do it up at the front then swirl it around and put the shoulder straps on last?
Reverse for taking it off.

Probably a bit late now but if you ever need to buy another one look at front closing maternity bras. I too while I had a bad shoulder used the do up in front and twist method, but sometimes you need to readjust the straps to get enough wriggle room.

I have very short arms that can't manipulate hooking up in the back. I do what Caro does. I was taught to do it by a bra fitter at a lovely shop.
And I have fancy bras that cost over $100 that I never wear and bras that cost $35 that I wear every day.

I haven’t been able to do bras up at the back for years, and can’t do the do up at front and turn around thing, due to deteriorating shoulders. Years ago I discovered Ahhh bras, and have been wearing them, for ages. I have yet to find a front fastening bra that actually fits and can be fastened.

I followed the dot it up in front, turn bra around put bra on. BUT….. turn the bra around was very difficult, the bra was so tight it did not want to move around, after much cursing and fuming, I did manage to turn bra around. Some few hours later, getting into the car to come home,

Last time I had a bra fitted, I never wore it again, as there was no way I could get it on myself. $100+ wasted. I think the whole bra culture needs to change to meet the needs of real women.

There are bras that cost over $100? I mean,I think it know they exist, like expensive shoes, just - wow.
I only wear bras in the gym ( sports bra) or in office when I wear tight tops. But thankfully I am still a B/C cup and due to good chest muscles they stay in place with no support. So much more comfortable!
Oh, and the bras I do have are all wireless ones - bras with underwrite are just torture.

I envy ladies with small boobs, how I would to be a B or C cup. As a 13 year old being a D cup was embarrassing by the time I was 20, I had graduated to Double D, some years ago I was 18GG, then a 22GG, but the store where I purchased these only go up to a size 22. Which sadly, I no longer am. The sales lady put me in a 24E but I don’t think the band is big enough, I’ve a sneaking suspicion I should be in a size 26. Think I’ll ring them today.
Have a doctor’s appointment at 12:45 cos of stomach pains. Although now that I’ve eaten something (two nectarines) my tummy no longer hurts!

My bra of choice is about $80 and it is absolutely not a fancy bra. I wait for it to be on sale before buying.

I've been a double D since high school. I don't get how people find underwires uncomfortable. I never notice them.

I was like Roms for ages, but then they suddenly grew when I was in my late 30s, early 40s. I'm convinced it was coming off the pill. So I never got used to bras, so underwire is torture, even now. I've never really worn "proper" bras, only cotton crop tops although I have, over the years, spent hundreds of dollars trying to wear proper bras. They tend to only come in non-natural fabric which my skin won't tolerate. Or if they're cotton, they look like massive torturous "over the shoulder boulder holders".

I spent a lot of money on 4 bras at a specialty bra shop - not $100 each, but a lot more than I ever had before.
But... I bought them when I was the heaviest/biggest I've ever been. And a year later I lost weight, and they don't fit very well anymore.
My favourite, most comfortable ones were about $30 each at a department store. I'll get more of them before going back to a specialty shop.

I avoided underwire for years, because when I stretched my arms the bra would slip up over my boobs. Turns out they weren't the right size; I had to go up two cups and down a chest band.
But I very rarely wear one. I bought one I adored a few years ago, but then two years ago I lost 5 kg and it turns out a lot of that was on my boobs.

I hate buying bras and try to go infrequently and spend little. I can usually get away with a roughly $35 one from Bendon (when on special with second half price). Holy cow, $184 for one bra and then you think it doesn't actually fit properly?! That's pretty appalling.

There is an influencer person i somewhat follow who produces a bra that I'm tempted to try as my backup weekend not going anywhere bra. It's kinda like an ahh bra (basically a crop top, elasticcy thing). The brand is Harper James.
Might have to wait until it is on special though!

All of my bras are underwired. They usually cost around $80 each so I try and buy them on special. I'm an E cup so need something supportive. At home, I don't feel comfortable going braless but I have a couple of bamboo unwired bras from Bella Bodies which I like.
