Ginger tea is also a good warmer-upper.

It's a double espresso shaken with ice and sugar (not a lot) then topped with cold foam.

Melbourne at this time of year is usually an inferno. No wait, slightly warmer than that. Yeah but - like I said in earlier posts - weird weather this summer. Attachment Deleted

I remember you talking about cappuccinos, since I love them too and related to that. But I quit drinking them all the time because making them with anything other than whole milk is nasty, and I'm trying to lose some weight. Not sure what a free &% is, but hope you work out whatever it is that you need to have happen here About the whole milk thing: it's only about 4% fat, and there's not very much even in milky coffees. I mean I know every calorie counts, but even whole milk doesn't have an awful lot of them. I'm currently reading a book about calories (and how we measure them wrongly in just about every single way possible) by Giles Yeo: Why Calories Don't Count, which you might find interesting if you can find it.

Actually, in most cases, reduced fat milk products have higher sugars in them to compensate for the lack of viscosity and taste.
Using less, full fat, dairy is better than using more, low fat, dairy.

I once bought a regular milk cappuccino with no sugar for me, and a skinny one with several sugars for a skinny colleague. I think mine was healthier.

Yup, exactly - I drink black coffee but eat full-fat yogurt, real butter, etc. And I drink cappuccino sometimes, just have become used to black coffee/long black coffees. And snowwhite thanks - honestly I know my issue re losing weight is SUGAR, not fat, but I figure cutting out a couple calories here and there can't hurt if I've gotten used to black coffee anyway.

Yes - Feb is the month of stinking hot weather. I dread it every year. But even then I'd enjoy sitting outside my fav coffee joint with a flattie and a cake - in the morning before it gets too hot!

One of the local cafes does a lemon and ginger tea that is finely sliced ginger and wedges of lemon.
If you have any cold or congestion symptoms it's like magic.

I usually make a tea water for brewing tea with freshly sliced ginger and a cinnamon stick. I freeze it in cubes and add it to the water I boil to make tea. But my favorite flavored tea - Harney and Sons Hot Cinnamon Spice

At this very moment i am drinking Equal Exchange Chai, which obviously isn't as good as chai in actual India or whatever but is nevertheless tasty. I grind a little extra pepper in.
