Because we're all at that age where we wake ourselves up and sprain something before we get out of bed.
Today it's self inflicted digestive issues. I didn't realize how cold it was when I left for work and was wearing the wrong coat. So I go myself a large coffee that went down to fast. So I made a nespresso (we now have a nespresso maker at work). And that got itself drunk fast so I made another. And after drinking half of it I remembered this was ust a bad idea.
And now I have a stomach ache But I'm hungry. So here I am. It's almost 7pm. I want to eat something. But I don't want to hurt my tummy.
So anyhow, what are your self inflicted aches and pains.

Deciding to add sour cream to the cheese on tacos. Too much lactose.

My big toenail has split or fallen off. I dunno. But I can see about 3 layers of toenail. I have no idea why as I don't think I had hit it. But yeah, fallen off.

I have a rotten cold, but it was probably not self inflicted. Had to cancel physiotherapy, and am running short on some edibles, but will not be leaving the house.
Toenails look good.

Webs, when I get overenthustiac with the ocffee, I find some kefir or yoghurt is a gentle way to get the stomach ready for food. Of course, if a person has lactose issues, that's no help at all.
I shoved my thumb into a door frame (it jumped out at me!) and now the nail is split right down into the quick. It doesn't hurt, but I keep catching it on things and it's very hard to keep a bandaid on it.

I got recommended (for oldies) second round of the latest Covid vaccine yesterday and feel like crap today. Judging by past performance, I should be fine by dinner time, so truly minor, and arguably self-inflicted..

I did the yogurt for second breakfast this moring, thanks sprite.
Stomach still funky. It's super cold out. Not feeling good enough to go hunting for food. Just going to eat everything in the house until there's nothing left.

I'm growing a bunion. As a non-heel wearer I feel this is unfair. I do have some corrective insoles, but I stopped using them because they didn't fit in my boots, and now when I try using them they make my his hurt because I'm not used to them.

I have a pain in the top of my right foot. It isn’t there all the time, mostly when resting or trying to sleep. It doesn’t affect walking. I’m wondering if it’s gout-related. I plan to ask podiatrist on next visit.

I have much the same thing - pain on left foot down around the little toe, never while I'm up, but frequently when I'm in bed and the foot is warm. I'd assumed arthritis. Had never thought of asking the podiatrist - will do so next visit.
I've done so much coughing over the past day or two that I am now experiencing pain behind the rib cage when I cough.

You know when you hit your nail and then it grows back with a dent? I must have done that on holiday, no memortu but have huge dnet in my nail, just looks and feels weird.
Self inflicted - after weeks of eating high protein and low carb I stuffed myself with a whole naan bread with my curry yesterday, even though I was way full half way through, it was just is yummy. Felt like I had a stone sitting in my tummy for hours, and quite some cramps in the evening, until I woke up at 1am for a VERY urgent bathroom visit...All out of the system now, but I should really listen to my tummy when it tells me it has enough.

Verifocals. Got my new glasses today and it is really weird. I feel I need to tuck my chin into my chest for distance vision, and always get stuck in the in between line of seeing everything blurred, close and far away. Hope my brain will adjust!

Take your time, romily. It takes a while to get used to turning your whole head instead of your eyeballs. I think it was a couple of days for me. If you don't improve after a few days, maybe go back to where you got them and check that the prescription was filled absolutely correctly. A small error can have extreme consequences, which happened to me in my first pair. I got a refund and took the prescription to another optician who did a perfect job. Good luck adjusting. I love mine now and woud never go back.

getting used to verifocals,it's amazing that I can read my phone again without taking glasses off and the letters on computer screens don't blur and jump around anymore. The rest will come. Stumble don the steps down from the gym - thankfully my trainer walked in front of me and I fell into him so he caught me! More careful now with steps.
Ran smack bang into doorframe yesterday - can't even blame my glasses was just in a rush. Nice coloured bruise on arm, will wear long sleeves in the gym today!

I had to get used to looking at uneven surfaces when wearing multi focal glasses. I often took them off.

I have them too (here we call them "progressives" for some reason) - and got used to them immediately. It's weird how they affect different people differently. I know someone who can't tolerate them at all, they make them feel sick.

Roms, the dent thing can also be from illness or infections, not just injury. Beaus Nails.
I somehow managed to pour boiling water over my fingers today when moving a poached chook out of the poaching liquid. Something I've done many times before without issue. Have never felt such pain, had to keep my hand in cold water for well over an hour.

Yes, when you need to walk and look at the ground as well - like I do when I go litter picking when I constantly switch between long distance and closer up. I might use my old glasses just for that purpose.
Otherwise I notice that my brain seems to blend out / ignore the blurry in between already quite a bit.

Going down stairs was hard. I rely a lot more on railings these days.
If you ride a bike, wear your old glasses!

Ohhhh - actually I have noticed that watching my footing on a steep hill is harder now. I didn’t attribute it to the glasses, but hmmm.

I find it hard when I am tired - just noticing today after a night of nearly no sleep and having to work - focusing on the monitor an switching from long to short distance is definitely worse than on other days. Guess my brain isn't very switched on!
