Here's the International Booker longlist, in case you hadn't seen it yet; shortlist is to be announced on Tuesday. I've only read one of these so far ("Kairos") and found it INCREDIBLY ANNOYING to the point that I would have abandoned it except that the setting was interesting. But everything else sounds interesting: thebookerprizes.com/the-booker-library/prize-years/international/2024

haven't ready any of them, I can see two or three that I'll do the kindle free read a chapter tactic and maybe purchase... but if you found Kairos annoying pretty sure I will as well

No, neither have I, but I have read other books by Kurkov, Almada, Wiener and Erpenbeck.
I'd most like to read the Gabriela Wiener.
As for Kairos, I may be wrong because I'm not totally clued into the German-speaking literary community, but I feel like I see Erpenbeck's work more in translation than in the original. I wonder why she seems to appeal to the English market, or at least its literary prizes, more than her own.
