Trying to think of restaurants to take LC to. With his nut allergies, most asian restaurants (think Thai, Chinese, Indian) are ruled out, but I'm not really sure about Korean food.
Are there many nut based dishes which could mean problems in the kitchen? There are loads of Korean BBQ restaurants near our area, and I know that would be fine, just not sure about other dishes.

HD - not sure if this is any help? www.peanutallergy.com/boards/korean-restaurantsI do recall from going to lots of Korean restaurants in Germany with Frank, that they tend to use more sesame seeds and sesame oil than nuts. Don't know if that is a problem for LC or not.... Bulgogi (the BBQ beef) is the BEST!!!

Thankfully sesame is fine for him. Thanks for the link - when I googled it didn't turn up anything! Just a bit worried about asking the staff, as the places at Eastwood are very, very Korean and often the staff have very limited english. Oh, just had a brainwave, could ask his Korean teacher at preschool - she might have a restaurant to recommend.

Or she might be able to write you a note to take along with you which explains his dietary restrictions and outlines the consequence if he does consume nuts (so they know its serious).
I ate heaps of Korean BBQ when I lived in Beijing. I really miss it.

I'm peanut, cashew, pistachio allegic and have never had problems with Korean food. I can't think of ever looking at a menu wondering if I can eat it or not.

Yay! Good news - might try a Korean BBQ place soon. Bundes, what other restaurants do you find pretty safe? We've eaten loads of Spanish, and fish and chips is always a winner with LC, but I'd like a few more ideas.

I eat a lot of sushi, which might not be very helpful for LC. I'm trying to think where else I eat and I keep coming up with pubs Greek should work wouldn't it?

Yes, we tried Greek in Amsterdam, and as long as you avoid the desserts it is fine. THere is a good greek restaurant not too far from us, so I'm planning a lunch there on Clipper's next RDO. LC loves pub lunches!

Oh right, the dessert. I'm not a sweet eater at all so forget about that.
I'll keep thinking.
I really want to go to South East Asia but I'm also super allergic to mango (probably my worst allergen) so keep putting that part of the world off.
I feel for you 3.

I'm late to this party but my bf is allergic to nuts and he hasn't had any issue with Korean food. He isn't hugely allergic so I don't know about nut traces.
