As the title suggests, I think I need a craft-based intervention. I now have two children under two. I think it's official that I will have next to no spare time for the foreseeable future. So far, when we get both of them to sleep I tend to collapse onto the couch in an exhausted heap (granted, number two has only been here for <2 weeks and it's been 30°C+ for the last week). I have no idea how much craft time I'm going to get. We're also about to put our apartment on the market and hopefully move into our house some time in the next few months. So, what have I spent my Christmas money on over the past few days? $90 on wool from a local supplier. $30 on buttons from the UK. $100 on Oliver+s patterns (they're beautiful, check them out! - oliverands.com/category/paper.html) Help! Is there anyone else out there with a crafty addiction? Want to start a support thread to coo over our latest purchases, share our creations and help us when we get stuck with sewing/knitting/crochet/insert random craft here patterns/instructions?

No crafty addiction here, but I adore the hat you made LC and would pay for more, just feel guilty asking a nursing mother with a toddler to make any.

Me, a craft addiction? I am jobless, still am going to drive to my favorite wool store this morning, because I need one little ball extra for a project I'm working on.
Ha, indeed!
I would totally dig a craft thread!! I know Q and other crafters would also appreciate it.

Haha. You're right. Perhaps we just need a craft thread I'll start one as soon as my lovely wool arrives in the mail, unless someone beats me to it.

LOL! I just went to the wool shop, they didn't have what I needed and I still came home with 5 balls of cotton. Ah... And of course now I have to go online and order the yarn I need...

Another crafter here. Do not knit, but love to sew and in general do a lot of things by myself. The last thing I did was home-made soap for family and friends as Christmas presents.

Moj - I think that's so clever. There was also another poster who makes soap, Cybergal I think??

I'm interested too, although I've abandoned knitting for the lat week or two because of the heat. I'm seriously interested in joining the local guerrilla knitters.

I knit and sew stuff.... Sometimes I even make quilts.
I used to have a sticker that said "the one who dies with the most fabric wins"
I may also need a craft intervention since my major reason for signing up for the craft pay it forward was that I would be able to use some of the fabric stack....

LOL!! I have decided to start and make a 2- bed quilt so I can use my stash up. Ha!! (And I am going for the simplest design there is, all squares). It's probablt going to take me untill 2017 to finish it.

LOL! I'm working very hard not to win!
I mostly have jerseys, stretch corduroy, soft-shell, polar fleece etc... as I sew a lot for my boys. So no girly dresses, just stretch pants and jackets with plenty of pockets.

the one who dies with the most fabric wins MURDERER!!!! I'm a pot head. A mud girl. A clay-mationist. But I used to do amazing collages. I don't want an intervetion. I want more time to do it.

I don't think I'm a crafter. though over the past year I've made my own christmas tree, made some nice scrubbs, re-started on an embroidery project again and knitted my own scarf over christmas. hmmmm. clearly slipping....

I think I'm "lucky" in the sense that I have no money and no space. I always want to do crafty things but I can't afford supplies and I can't put them anywhere, which saves me from falling into the abyss. If I had money and space I think I'd buy out the entire Michael's and Jo-Ann's in my city!

I also have no space. But hopefully this will change soon as I am planning to have a whole room just for my crafts once we move. So looking forward to it.

Oh, and HalcyonDaze, I'll happily make LC some more hats next time I've got my machine out it might take me a while though. Mojcek - I'll have a little sewing room in our new house too. I can hardly wait! What patterns do you like for boys? I love Oliver + s patterns for girls, but their boys' range is limited. I got an Ottobre subscription for Christmas - I'm hoping to find some cool patterns there. LOL! I just went to the wool shop, they didn't have what I needed and I still came home with 5 balls of cotton. Ah... And of course now I have to go online and order the yarn I need... I go to the store for something that should only cost a few dollars and come out with metres of fabric Or log on to an online store and order way more than I intend to! Mei, sounds like you should join our thread...

I saw Mei's scarf, it's beautiful. Good work! Whortle, there's a Dutch sewing magazine for kids called 'Knippie' which I hear is great (I wouldn't know...) and I wouldn't mind sending you a copy. Here's the website, maybe Google translate can help you out with the language... www.knippie.nl/

whortleberry, I also use Ottobre. You can order old issues online and get just the ones you like. Anyway, there aren't many different(!) patterns for the boys and if you're willing to adjust the patterns (adding zippers, pockets, change the width and length ...) there are only a few you actually need.
Otherwise I often copy patterns from the things I buy, especially if I find something that really fits.
For me, I mostly use Burda.

I had a craft room, but it keeps getting taken over by stuff I'm storing for other people.
