So, I'm a member of an English-language book club here in Germany and as we come from a variety of different countries, we were talking about reading a book from each person's home country. We have a few Americans so in their case, we were thinking about reading a book from their home state. This left us wondering about authors from Wisconsin and Tennessee. Unfortunately, from Wisconsin we could only think of Laura Ingalls Wilder(!) and from Tennessee, anything you google you just get results for Tennessee Williams! Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Ann Patchett (whom I have never read, but definitely plan to based on what you lot say about her books) has lived in Tennessee since she was six.

Kevin Wilson who wrote The Family Fang lives in Sewanee, Tennessee. I didn't love his book though.

Oh, this is a great start, thanks Stripey!
I don't know why we didn't think of The Art of Fielding, one of your members has been recommending it for ages. We read Patchett's State of Wonder recently. I hadn't heard of Kevin Wilson.

Ultimately, our Tennessee bookclubber went for A Death in the Family by James Agee. So we'll see...
