The trick to a long walk is a good podcast, I've realised. I'm halfway through Serial. And have listened to all Ricky Gervais podcasts about three times.
What podcasts do you enjoy - any other recommendations?

I've subscribed to the Conversations with Richard Fidler, Sunday Night Safran and the Dr Karl podcasts recently. I see a slight pattern there......
There's also the Guardian Football weekly but a) that's on a break until football (the pomgolian sort) starts again and b) I'm not sure listening to how shit Liverpool are is worth recommending to anyone!

Oh, I also subscribe to Freakanomics and had This American Life recommended a while back.
Not going to be listening to podcasts for a few weeks though as it's time to learn the new releases for class. Apparently Nickleback are in Pump again. I really hate Nickleback.

I like the Vinyl Café and q - both from CBC.

I loved Serial, and after that I started listening to Criminal. Currently I'm listing to The Blacktapes, which I'm really enjoy.

Serial was excellent. I listened to Disclosure, the follow up, after it.

Seems like only yesterday this was posted.....
Still listening to Football Weekly but have also started up on Sleek Geeks (Adam Spencer and Doctor Karl), Jay and Silent Bob Get Old and Sunday Night Safran (I have to admit that Father Bob can get on my tits at times).

Richard Herring's Leicester Square podcast is funny. And lasts nearly exactly the same amount of time as the walk from my flat to my favourite pub.

Convenient that.
I liked the podcast he did with Katherine Ryan. I think she's my latest celebrity crush......a mate did say that she's just my type of celebrity crush. I'm not sure how to take that.

I listen to Lake Wobegon if I'm homesick.

I really enjoy Freakanomics, and there's a tremendous back catalogue I'm working through.

The Freakonomics guy's voice drives me CRAZY. (He . . . says a few words aaa . . . nd then another few words aaaa . . . nd builds this weird rhythm into his sentences. Argh.)

I've tried podcasts but don't seem to have the patience for them. However, a good audiobook is a good companion on country drives.
But, thanks hal for that link - I'll keep trying.
