Meh. Not exactly a page turner, and as much as I don't like to judge a book based on the first chapter alone, I can't say I'm in a hurry to find out what happens next.

Not going to bother right now. Maybe in years to come.

I just read it. Wrote my review in the monthly book thread; overall, you have to go into it determined to accept that it's not TKAM and the characters are not the same people as in that book. Particularly Atticus.
I did find it worth reading, in the end. Nothing like an all time classic, but worth reading.

As I said on the book thread, I need to find To Kill. a Mockingbird in a library, as I've never read it. Which one should be read first, TKAM or GSAW?

Definitely TKAM.
It's a wonderful book on so many fronts.
Start with the gold standard and leave GSAW for when it's on the free book pile or you've read all the other books you want to in life.

I haven't read TKAM since I was 12 or something, so I'd definitely need to reread it first to get the impact of the new piece. But I haven't been motivated to do so... there are so many good new books coming out that it will be a good long while before I get to that point.

I don't think I ever read To Kill a Mockingbird, but I saw the movie many years ago and have watched it several times since then. Same for Mississippi Burning, saw it a long time ago and it made a deep impression on me and have watched it a number of times. Never read the book though.
