I seriously do not want to read The Cursed Child.
I read a synopsis and thought it sounded like far fetched fan fic (which is exactly what it is).

Out of the winners, I've read: The Underground Railroad (fantastic); out of the nominees, I've read "Before the Fall" (gripping)
I don't see anything in the winners on my immediate to-read list, but in the nominees lists there's tons of stuff. In fiction there's Ann Patchett, Helen Oyeyemi, and Yaa Gyasi; there's also that Gaiman there in sci-fi that I'll undoubtedly read. In nonfiction there's Evicted, and almost half of the science books. There's also a couple graphic novels in there, like Ta-Nehisi Coates' "Black Panther," and the John Lewis book. There's also a couple books in Humor by people who I follow on Twitter and should probably support eventually....

Well, now I want to read The Underground Railroad.
Only nominee I've read is the Anne Patchett.
I also want to read the Gaiman non-fiction - View from the Cheap Seats

I've read a few of the nominees - Madeleine Thien (very good), Ian McEwan (awful). The Underground Railroad and Homegoing both sound good, but I've got a long to-read pile as it is and trying not to buy loads of books...

I also want to read the Gaiman non-fiction - View from the Cheap Seats I started that and was loving it, but it is one of those books that I prefer to dip in and out of and sadly I ran out of time to finish it. So I'll have to get it from the library again.

Just finished 'the view from the cheap seats', and it took me months...but in a good way. The essay format makes it easy to out down and pick up. Some of the essays were more interesting than others, but so many of them gave me some 'mmmm..let me think about that' moments.

Just finished Cormac McCarthy's The Road. It is well written, but I didn't like it. Too dark, too negative for me. I looked at it as a biology dissections.. Bits are interesting. It all works together beautifully, but it was overall an unpleasant experience and part of me wonders if there is something unethical about it.

Well, like you said it was really well written, but eugggh. Just read that Kim Stanley Robinson's novel about post-climate-change NYC is out - this is now at the top of my to-read list.

I haven't read any of those. Tbh though, I tend to wait intil books have been out a while and are therefore cheaper. My most recent biography read is Brice Springsteen, which I like greatly.

haven't read any of the winners. As far as the others, haven't looked through all categories, but for Sci-Fi: Death's End which is excellent. Really want to read the new Jonathan Safran Foer, The Underground Railroad,

Thanks Webs for posting the link. Underground Railroad Commonwealth Do not say we have nothing all got added to my reading wish list... and I've just checked good reads and I have 92 books on that list... Given that I read about 50 books a year this is the task of Sisyphus.
