What do I do with a kilo of it?!
I assume once I open the tin it won't keep well.

it must keep reasonably well, as it's the filling for Alfrajore cookies, and they have a long shelf life. i'd check on how it freezes. i suspect that the texture would change so it might not be so nice where appearance is concerned, but could still be used as a cake filling or on toast.

Just eat it with a spoon; it'll go much faster than you realize. Put it on vanilla ice cream. Use it as cake filling.

It's pretty much sugar, I suspect it would keep for months in the fridge... fairly sure I've already proved that.

I just had a quick look on a Spanish language forum with Argentines suggesting it keeps "forever" and that over time the sugar may crystallize, but that's not harmful. I didn't find any "official" guidance though!
Argentines get through a lot of it spread on bread or toast in place of jam.

it is condensed milk, but given how much it's cooked down, i'm pretty sure it would take a while to go off. none ever lasted long enough with us. i don't have a sweet tooth, but taht stuff is addictive.

i once had a jar that i forgot about (i know, seems impossible, right?) and it went bad. then again, it is some years ago, maybe it just crystallized and i thought it had gone bad because it looked weird ...
but yeah, unless you are planning to keep it only for special occasions, it tends to get eaten fairly quickly, at least in my case ...
