That is a fantastic kitchen.
Last day of the design course. I got some surprising feedback on my design, which makes sense now, and once I'd made the adjustment she pointed out, it opened up space to solve a couple of other points I'd been puzzling over.
Making plans for meals this coming weekend. 9 of us in a shared house to climb a very big hill. 2 omnivores (one of whom would not be happy to not have meat all weekend), 2 pescatarians who can't have lactose, 2 vegetarians, 1 vegan.
Gonna be fine...

pero and I went to the really good Mexican place for my impending birthday. It's amazing how simple Mexican food is and yet how different the good stuff is vs the mediocre stuff. Plus I had a really good margarita. Yay

Went to the theatre with d-I-l.. fantastic play.. The Lehman Trilogy. 3 hours and only 3 actors, minimalist stage. I loved it.. if you have a chance to see it, I’d highly recommend it.

My friend left for home this morning. Realised when I got to church that I’m physically exhausted. Led singing as part of the group, has an interesting chat about retirement villages with a retired teacher about ten years older than me, went to shops on the way home as we used up all the milk this morning. Now I’m about to lie down with Uncle Arthur’s autobiography.

The best mexican food I ever had was simple stree food - like in so many otehr countries as well.
Today - even more rain than yesterday. Went shopping, doing some laundry now, and then continuing to relax - and study spanish.
Next weekend in germany will be hectic with lots of travel and lots of people (some I am looking forwrad to, some not so much) so it's actually noce to use the weather as an excuse to stay in and relax. Although going for a walk would have been nice.

After a lazy morning watching gourmet food market videos (summer holiday planning), went out for a short local hike in very high winds. Cut the hike short for safety reasons and decamped to the cafe to scoff a delicious piece of rhubarb custard meringue torte.
Currently listening to the dying minutes of the football match which will probably seal the fate of my football team's relegation to the 2nd division next year. My Cologne mascot stuffed toy Goats are bereft.

Biggish walk today, as part of our Ben Nevis prep. I was feeling really down and then halfway up a very steep hill, realised I had quite bad indigestion, and no tablets. lesson learned for next weekend!
we stopped for a decent-ish Italian on the way home, most of mine will be our lunch on Tuesday. home with tablets, hot water bottle, shower, herbal tea... feeling so much better now.

Did a bit of putting away winter clothes. General straightening up inside and some outside. I have a couple of plants for outside but there may be storms tonight so they can wait. Not extremely productive but making progress. Oh yes the dog walk at the park where the wind is blocked by a ridge happened as well.
Trying to figure out how to do my dyeing brews. My outside hotplate died. I could get a freestanding fire pit, have one built, or invest in a new hotplate. Having a simple one built might be the best option.

went climbing. later, had a bath. then went to pick up a. trying to get to bed earlier today (well, it is already later than i planned but earlier than usual) - had some weird things with my eyes today while cycling to the climbing gym, and wonder if it is due to general tiredness or the weather change or something else ... (like, there were like blurry spots in my vision while other parts looked normal) so, the plan is to get to bed earlier in general, from now on to at least do something against the general tiredness ...

The return to school. Which meant the alarm going off this morning. LC is mostly self sufficient in the school prep stuff, but I did have to find his debating badge for him to go on the winter blazer.
Now - have book club book to read. That means I want to finish 2 other books that I am halfway through before I start the book club book. But at least it is cool enough now to sit on the balcony and read

I spent about an hour getting some images ready for my U3A 'Creative Photography' class tomorrow. Last Tuesday we went to Brighton Beach where there are many bathing boxes with a view to taking some creative shots. I got from 50 down to 11, then some light editing (cropping, straightening) and copied them to a USB stick ready for class. This shows the boxes with the city skyline in the distance. Not very creative but an OK pic.

Meeting in Casino this morning, mostly a catch up with old friends. Realised how much I enjoy a nice drive in the countryside with an audiobook. For the last couple of weeks, I have mostly been driving with passengers. This afternoon I have a zoom executive meeting with the same organisation.

After two days of non stop rain over the weekend I woke up Monday morning to brilliant sunshine. Now stuck in the office of course. Rather pissed off about it.
Otherwise just work. Bla.

I didn't sleep well last night, so I turned off my alarm and am working from home today. Hopefully this coffee will take effect at some point. It's going to be a gorgeous hot, sunny day, so now I'll be able to take a walk in the park at lunch if I can wake up enough by then.

Finished my jackhammer work, and was all set to do more outdoors work but the rain started.
Now I'm cold and can't push myself back outside! Trying to get lots of little things done, as my student has a school event on so our lesson is cancelled, meaning I have no schedule at all.

After a lovely long weekend, I had a rubbish sleep on Sunday night and was so tried in the office all day yesterday.
Last night I went to yoga. It was the last one for this teacher which I'm quite sad about as I really enjoyed her style. Much better sleep last night and working from home today. Kids have just been dropped off at school and preschool and I need to prepare for a workshop I'm leading tomorrow. It is much more touchy feely about trust and working together than I am used to so I am nervous about it. Last night I dreamt that it was a complete disaster so I need to do more prep today.
Tonight soccer training for CK1 so hoping to get a few laps of the oval in too.

Having a really lazy day. First day at home by myself in over 2 weeks and I am embracing my inner sloth. It is raining, so that means I can't do the laundry (what a shame). Up to date with groceries.
So yay, sloth it is

I’m joining in the sloth. I’ve just got home from the blood bank, where I had a lovely chat with a woman who’s been travelling Australia in a caravan with her husband for 15 years. She was killing time waiting for a car repair. I need to make a phone call for an update on my car, and then I’ll start a new book.

Working from home - it is one of the first beautiful spring days and I am stuck working. very annoyed. Also have a shitty task I have pushed away from me to complete today. Yay me.
Gym at lunch, and Spanish class online after work, but I might be able to manage to go for a 39 minute walk in between - if it is not raining after work.

Oh dear, groo, that doesn't sound like much fun!
I've got a really easy day today, only teaching one lesson this afternoon so have lots and lots of time to catch up on 10,000 admin tasks that come up towards the end of the school year regarding planning for next year - I have to write summer exam papers, proofread report texts, tweak next year's curriculum plans for all non-native classes, stuff like that.
Tomorrow is a public holiday - yay! - and tonight is the annual huge outdoor concert at one of the city gates of my little town, it's always great fun with a fantastic band (it's a different one this year but they look great too) and running into heaps of people I only see a handful of times a year. Usually doesn't end until about 1.30 the next morning - I guess the town figures no residents will be making complaints about noise because they're all there anyway!
