Mr Snow is probably heading that way next week and is likely to have a few days before he starts actually working. Anyone been? Know anyone who has? Hints or tips? Requests for souvenirs? The food programme (on BBC R4) came from there this week, if anyone's inspired to find out more - there's also googlemaps, wikipedia and a tourist information site of course.

I know nothing about them except for the war, and that if you're from Argentina you would call them Las Malvinas. However, I happened to have noticed them this morning on the New York Times "52 Places to Go in 2019" list, so here's the link in case for some wild chance there could be anything there he'd want to know: www.nytimes.com/interactive/2019/travel/places-to-visit.html. (They're #23.)

Navy Boy says stay out of the mine fields!
Stay away from Tina.... Notorious local lady apparently. Not a discerning woman, hapoy to throw herself at protesting men who are actively trying to run away from her.
He can only remember the Globe pub specifically, but there are a few bars.
The Navy always say you'll either come back from the Falklands a gym bunny or an alcoholic.
And wrap up. It's flipping cold.

Oh, and penguins look cute, but they stink apparently.

Penguins also bite. Not knowledge from specific Falklands penguins, just general penguin stuff.

I was going to be flippant and say take a jacket, but I see viv has already beaten me to it!
