Would you book museum tickets?
I'm not sure if I want to do the Uffizi in the morning or afternoon and it's only open on the Tuesday I'm in Florence. So I really do need to book something.

It sort of depends on a case by case basis.
I would look at probably a few weeks ahead based on limited time and popularity of place for the Uffizi if it is something you really want to go to.

I’ve never booked museum or gallery tickets in advance. I’ve just turned up and paid to go in. Is there a need to book advance tickets?

Ozzie, I have done pre-paid tickets for some major events and you just go straight past the queues to get in.

If it's something I know I want to do, I book the minute I have a firm idea of what day I'd want to go. But then I'm a planning type.

If it requires booking and you know what day you want to do it on, then just book something. Morning or afternoon doesn’t matter; you’ll plan the rest of your day around it. Just pick whatever has your preference at the moment. (Maybe it’s more quiet in the morning?)

I always (well, almost always) go at the very start of the day, then I know it gets done, I'm fresh and can appreciate it all the more.
It is so easy to miss things like a museum visit when there is so much to do in a place.

if you know the day you are there, I would book it already - does it matter much for you if it's morning or afternoon? I like shilgia's and womba's approach

If there's something I'd like to see and I know when I will be there, I would pre-book. Me, I would book morning giving me the afternoon free for other planning.
