Tourists and their wish for "Authentic" and "Pristine"

Honestly, I'm getting really pissed orf with these stupid bloody ningnongs who ask about and want "authentic" treks in xyz, and really really hope there won't be any other trekkers there because so many places are being overrun by tourists you know!

And the beaches! La! It isn't fair if the beach area they wish to visit isn't the "pristine" underdeveloped wilderness it was before any westerner set foot on it and ruined it for him. Or her.

And hotels! Don't get me started on hotels that have been built on said beach! I tell ya it's a conspiracy! No more sand and palms without a building or person in sight. Oh no, we want to stay where no white man has been before don't you know!

Spare me these holier-than-thou tourists (oops, sorree!), travellers who moan because they can't find a place in the world that remains completely untouched by human hands. Locals are probably alright, but definitely not the other kind, thank-you very much.

Don't these dingalings realise it's because of people like themselves who are responsible?
Oh, and BTW, you can call yourself what you like - you're still a ruddy tourist.

Phar, I could pretty much give them that sort of experience in Solomon Islands, although they would probably be upset that the people usually wear shorts, skirts and t-shirts, not grass skirts. And we have a flush loo!

I used an "authentic" loo in China, believe you me, they're not all they're cracked up to be.

I’ve used far too many, mostly while living and travelling in Solomon Islands. Now I try to avoid them.

Iv heard the squats are better for your guts, but it needs years of training to build up the leg muscles!
