Do we have any posters from here? I'm quite likely to be attending a conference here in August 2021. I think I might use it as an excuse for a Canadian holiday

There are a few of us on the west coast.. some in central Canada (more on fb these days) and a couple on the prairies. It’s a long flight from Halifax to the west coast.. but it’d be awesome to have you out here.

not exactly, but in canadian terms, close enough. Great little city, good food, decent live music scene, although it skews heavily to folk and folk rock. Cape Breton offers really good cultural visits, with Acadian French and Gaelic nearly side-by-side. whale watching, good camping/hiking, lovely beaches. There's a ferry from the NS side to PEI, or for a bit of wow factor, head to Alma for incredible tides and damn fine lobster rolls. you'll need to rent a vehicle, but i would really bother doing that until your conference is done. transport from airport to centre is available, but shit compared to europe/asia.

Thank you, that's very helpful

Wow, now I want to go to Halifax (I did go there once, but it was just an excursion from a ship to go sea kayaking, which was great.)

I really like it, but rarely get to go--I'm usually just flying through.
