Definitely not my style, but neither is Disney. I prefer ships with fewer than 1000 passengers.

.... and promenade decks and duty free prices and a library and quiet lounges.

I know I haven't had enough sleep this morning but that actually sounds... kind of appealing, in a weird, deafening way

With a view of the sea. Otherwise, why travel by ship?

Sea travel was once a wonderful experience - even with the Navy (and from the bridge one had plenty of views of the sea).

You boil the billy, add a handfull of tea leaves and a few eucalypt leaves (being careful to first scrape off any accretions of koala and goanna dung), swing the billy around your head a few times, have a quick snake's hiss and the brew is ready.
Damper (big scone with embedded charcoal) recipe to follow.

They spelled "linchpin" as "lynchpin." Sigh: there used to be copyeditors. Anyway, I only heard about the salt thing because it showed up in the New York Times weekly news quiz; I guessed it right, but only because of the context. What a weird thing to do to tea.

Interesting! And therefore ok since it's a British publication. I really think it still wouldn't be correct here.
I'm not confused by "licence"; maybe these folks don't read enough stuff from other countries (I guess I don't either)

As have I, and I thought it was disgusting. Though not the salt as much as the butter.

That's paywalled, but I think I was able to grasp the basics of the story. I know, TS is so genuinely generous and nice.
