What’s for dinner at your place tonight? Anything interesting? Like canapés and appetisers with those shrimps things hanging around a tall glass or plain country fare like lamb’s fry and bacon with mashed potato and peas? Me? I’m having lamb kebab — slow cooked lamb doner meat, lettuce, tomato, onion and homemade garlic sauce wrapped in a lighty toasted Greek style pita bread. Plus a small bag of chips and a couple of potato cakes. I haven’t had kebabs for ever so long.
And you? What’s your choice tonight?

Isn't lambs fry the testicles? I had those in a restaurant in Kentucky many years ago and it was horrible; they were weirdly crunchy, and covered with this white sauce that only reinforced the testicular nature of the dish. Ugh.
Anyway it's not for 12 hours but my dinner is going to be an Alaska Airlines Northwest Deli Snack Box.

Ohhhh. Actually maybe these nasty things in Kentucky were “lamb fries” Liiisa, lamb’s fry is never called lamb’s fries, and is never covered in white sauce. Testicles yes, fry no. Lamb’s fry is lamb liver dipped in seasoned flour then fried with onion rings and bacon and served with gravy. Gravy in Australia is a brown colour. Sometimes it is served as breakfast with a couple of fried eggs and tomto. .

No fried eggs with my lamb’s fry. Often no bacon, onion or tomato either. But it does make the best gravy. It was on the breakfast menu at the motel in Dubbo, where I often stayed for work, so I sometimes ordered it.

We had salmon with rice and vegetables. Nothing fancy. I'm trying to figure out what to do for tomorrow. Pinga is going to a birthday party, so it's just me, the Prince, and Pingu. Pingu prefers vegetarian food but has been a tad ornery lately, so I don't know if he can be bothered to eat with the adults.

I was going to make some fish chowder but didn't realize that the movie I chose to watch this afternoon was nearly 3 hours long.

Leftover fish chowder which wasn't quite enough for two people, so I added more chicken stock and wine, some corn, and a half can of chickpeas
ETA
And a cupcake with luridly red icing and a football on top (neighbor was giving away leftovers from his sportsball party)
