If you have a shop selling 'american' or 'carribean' foods, they will have tinned pumpkin. Check the sugar content. I have a tin, saving it for when I can be bothered to make a pumpkin pie, which I'm not massively keen on, but would make for a large group.

Oh, sure, there will be some somewhere, I more meant that it's not a generally available thing in supermarkets. There is a store in Auckland that the older child loves to visit as they sell things like froot loops and pop tarts. And then I saw the other day that pop tarts are now available in the supermarket, through one of our main food brands. And I do think that there was an attempt to get canned pumpkin on to shelves for all the americans who wanted to make pumpkin pie around this time of year, but it was hella expensive. Like others have said, we don't have pumpkin pie, and if anyone did try to make it, I imagine they'd just mash up some roasted or boiled pumpkin. They're available pretty much year round here, despite being mainly an autumn crop. We still have some butternut squash in storage from last autumn.

Actually, canned corn and potatoes can be turned into quick meals cutting out lots of prep. Canned pumpkin can easily be turned into soup. i made that soup last week lisa yes! baby frozen peas! liisa was served those tinned "french" peas once. nightmares

There's also sweet potato pie, which to me is even better than pumpkin pie.

You know, seeing “Confessions”, I was really expecting a real confession - you know…the type that that tells all the dirty secrets! X marks the spot, or I was a Spy for HMS!
Instead, what do we have? Peas, more bloody peas! That’s the only memorable thing I remember - don’t frown now, at least they’ve been remembered. Surely somebody must have done something naughty? I could understand if you were an axe murderer you might just want to keep mum about that, but hasn’t anybody done anything they shouldn’t?

I love the frozen baby peas - petits pois- because you don't need to boil them in a saucepan. I just chuck a handful into a strainer and then pour a kettle full of boiling water over them. Voilà! That way they stay suoergreen and al dente.

The first time my parents took me to a fancy restaurant as a child, I was warned not to eat my peas with my fingers. So, apparently, I picked them up one by one, and put them on the tines of my fork.

I eat my peas with honey; I've done it all my life. It makes the peas taste funny, But it keeps them on the knife.

I hate sweat chili chicken with peas yesterday - the sweet chili sauce is great to keep the peas together to shovel them in your mouth.

(note that there is significant debate about this, because Spike Milligan quoted this poem, but used the last line Jimm used. But it is, correctly, 'my' as per the original by Ogden Nash)

Weird food related confessions - I find it soothing sometimes to watch those really bad cooking videos of insane ingredient combos that show up in FB reels.
I shared the joy with LC last night as we watched the Pringles and coke bread ring thing. Oh and I always watch with the sound off, which makes it even better.

I figure a lot of people must do it, as the reels exist and no one is cooking that stuff!

confession: I frequently pick up food of the floor, rinse, and put it back in the dish. No one has died yet.
And I feel like the death of my best friend would affect me far more than that of most family members or my partner.
