Ten runners out on loop 4 and one of them's a female sort of chap who's just set the record for the fastest completed 'fun run'.
Or is it just me following this?

I haven't the slightest clue what you're talking about, but I'm glad you're enjoying it

YES! Where are you following the updates? The OG place is to follow KeithDunn on Twitter, but I think there are some insta accounts now where you can get everything pretty quickly. It was SUCH an amazing finish this year. Five people completing and Jasmin Paris getting there with 99 seconds to spare. The videos of that are just extraordinary to watch. She was sprinting uphill for the last km, and had tunnel vision by the end - starting to black out.

I've only just seen this post now! I was following it on the spreadsheet from the start and spent the last loop on twitter, especially towards the end 😁
I really hope there's a documentary about this year's event - I've watched all the Barkley documentaries I've come across, it's such a fascinating race

Wow, I just read that blog; thank you for linking it. People are amazing!
I have a friend who does ultras, which completely baffles me, like how could anyone do that! - but this is like that times a million, like an ultra where you don't even know where you're going. Wow.

Liiisa if you have time to find and watch it (it's almost always available, just moves around) The Race that Eats It's Young is the documentary that explains everything. There's also #17 by Karel Sabbe (who was the 1th finisher), which is shorter and also worth a watch. And if anyone reading this would like something to commemorate Jasmin's achievement, you can buy custom tops here - the numbers are Jasmin's finishing time - 99 seconds inside the final cut-off. Black only because inclusive sizing.
