I have to go to a conference in Istanbul in July and have a couple of questions.
Is there any great difference between Ataturk airport and Sabiha Gokcen in particular getting to and from the Taksim square area? and what are the best transport options from the airports?
Any recommendations for hotels in the Taksim area (about 80-100 euros)?
Merci

valley boy, you might consider cross posting this on the Pot, as I know there are some posters based in Istanbul.

Ataturk airport has an excellent tram connection to the centre, the other one seems ages to get to when traffic is high but there are buses that are quite ok.
Don't know about hotels in the Taksim area though.

Ataturk is much quicker into town, the other airport is 1,5 hrs drive from the city center (I found that out the hard way), so go for Ataturk if you can.

Thanks for that.
I've managed to get flights in and out of Ataturk. It was an extra 100 quid but I'm sure the university can afford it.
