Sounds amazing!! Can't wait to hear all about it. What kind of vehicle are you taking?

The vehicle is a specially designed and built one for the company (dragoman). Imagine a big truck crossed with a small bus.. I was on one (many years ago) on an overland safari in Africa years ago which was not as well designed but was still relatively comfy. It can go into all sorts of places on all sorts of roads. It is great for small groups.

Oh, the frustration! It is booked.. But I have to make some changes.. For a good reason, as it turns out, but I will be going with a different outfit before Chrismas.

Damn, but good you found an alternative.
Have you been to NZ and/or Tassie? I keep on thinking they would be places you would enjoy.

Been there, Ozzie.. One of my best childhood friends lives there.. And plan on going back. It was a possibility until this South America Trip popped up.

Sounds like a wonderful trip. Will you still be able to see the same places with the new outfit, Sophie?

I think I congratulated you on this over the other board, but I'll say it again - fantastic!
So when exactly are you going now Sophie? I'll be in Chile from 6-22 November, but it sounds like you'll still be going a little later?

The trip I am booked on now is with Tucan. It is more or less the same trip through the Chile part of the trip, but spending a bit less time in some of the national parks, and a lot less camping but rather staying in lodges and hostels. (Maybe my old bones will appreciate that). The biggest difference is flying from Ushuaia to BBAA rather than driving that distance. I will have a couple of days in Santiago November 1 and 2 then 5 days in BBAA at the end of November.

OK. I'll be in Santiago about Nov 6-8! Buenos Aires is such a great city, although I was determined to go somewhere new, I do envy you a bit there.
