Stop-off between Cologne and Rotterdam

My parents are driving from Cologne to Rotterdam on Monday. They'd like to break the journey for a few hours.

Does anyone have any ideas? Eindhoven looks to be about in the middle, distance-wise, but I think somewhere smaller or something like a castle or stately home might be better than a city.

I just thought there might be some people who were familiar with this area, so it couldn't hurt to ask.

Maybe a coffee in Helmond which is much smaller and near Eindhoven, have a quick walk around the city centre and there is even a castle. Eindhoven is pretty stressful for parking and driving, at least for me and I go there quite often...

Sorry, leanut, I forgot to thank you before. I agreed with you about Eindhoven being too large. I passed on your suggestion but I haven't spoken to my parents since they left - just texted - so I'm not sure what they decided on!
