what is the most 'off the beaten track' island (or beach) you have visited in Thailand.
I love Thailand, I've been a couple times. I like mellow and slow - not full moon party. I've been to a few islands in Thailand (Ko Chang, Ko Tao, Ko Samet) I've also visited Ton Sai. I loved all of these places probably Ton Sai the best but I'd love to know if there are any more obscure beach/island spots I could (should) visit.
Thanks!

Depends when you're going.
We generally go to off the (western) beaten track beaches on the mainland now because if you go to an island, you (generally) have to endure substandard food (or at least modified for western consumption food).
At least in the Thai resort areas you get fantastic food.

We went to "Railay beach" area as we wanted something in-between. By comparison to other beaches we went to it was 'quite' but it wasn't like we were alone but it was paradise compared to Phi Phi. I absolutely loved the west beach (sun-set beach direction) we stayed at.
I heard there are beaches that are quite empty on "Koh lanta" but it sounded too quite for us.

I guess it depend show you define quite - Koh Lanta is totally touristy nowadays, or was the last time I've been three years ago. I loved Koh Jum for being off the beaten track. This website is awesome: tezzasthaiinfo.blogspot.co.uk/2007/06/index.html

Or course, it's all relative.
Btw - it was on her website I read about some of the secluded beaches on Koh Lanta.
