Because you lot know everything ;-)
I have some fresh blackberries and cherries. Are they good for making rocky road? Anyone got a good fool proof recipe I can use?
Thanx!!

The chocolate thing. I see some recipes online that have dried fruit in it. Anyone tried it?

Ooooh, I LOVE rocky road. Although usually the fruit in it is dried - I'd be interested to hear about your results using fresh berries

Hmm. Could I make rocky road with cereal in it? Like a kind of chocolate granola bar (but with less cereal than the typical granola bar)

I read a recipe with rice crispies in it, so should be ok Nutsy.
I am drying the fruit now. I guess if you use fresh fruit it takes longer to set.
So... can I use 50% milk chocolate 50% dark chocolate or should I use only milk chocolate?
Okay, I'm off to buy biscuits and spekjes :-)

No recipe, I'm afraid, Tulip, I've never bothered to make it myself. I had a colleague that used to make the BEST rocky road and bring it in to work

I found a recipe on a (of course) Australian website. Will make it first thing in the morning, so it has time to set. I am giving at to a friend for her bday.

I make it sometimes. It's really easy but i do cheat as I don't like dried fruit very much. I break up plain biscuits, cut up marshmallows and cut up raspberry chewy sweets (they are red frogs here) instead of the cherries. I melt milk chocolate (but I'm sure you could use any) and mix it all together. Spread it into a slice tin and put it in the fridge to set. I have no idea on quantities though. I just mix it all together and eat the leftovers! Make sure you take it out of the fridge in plenty of time to cut up or it can be really hard.

it sounds yummy and i'd use whatever chocolate you like. maybe mix it at the last second so it still looks swirly?

It´s in the fridge now. I´m making it as a bday pressie for a friend.
I used 500 grams of milk chocolate and 100 grams of dark choc (no swirly effect I'm afraid).
I mixed about 50 grams of dried cherries (did that myself yesterday, very easy), 150 grams of marshmallows cut up in small cubes and 70 grams of biscuits that I broke up.
Now... I have to wait 8+ hours. I think I'm going to leave it overnight, since my friends bday is tomorrow night. So fingers crossed.

Okay, enough of this. I need to make some too. But minus the marshmellows and/or cherries...

Nope, with almonds/walnuts and that crunchy muesli we were discussing somewhere else!
