It's a lot of work for not much that's edible.
I think I'm adding them to the list of "things I like when someone else makes them"
What's on your list?

Salmon. I can't grill a decent salmon fillet to save my life. Or any fish for that matter. I always cook the texture and flavor right out of it.

Same with fish, although it's mostly due to my insane food poisoning fear and lack of ability to cook meat. I am also crap at anything that needs shallow frying, which is prob a good thing!
Artichokes I never buy as they come, but man alive I love the hearts in olive oil!

Anything that includes fish or whole roasted anything.
I love a roast chicken, I just never make it as good as I get from a place that roasts it for me.

Poultry. I love a roasted duck, pheasant etc, but eating it is frustrating. All the little bones, ack!
And yeah, artichokes are a lot of work indeed. What can be a good solution is just to buy the hearts at your locak toko and put those on home made pizza... very nice. Not as nice as fresh artichokes of course, but at least some of the flavour and a lot less hassle.

We get artichokes pretty regularly in our weekly veg box. The Man steams them and I eat them. Yes a lot of work but they are good when fresh. If we didn't get them in our box I doubt we'd ever buy them.

now that im used to eating fish raw, i no longer overcook it. unlike chicken. that terrifies me. i love making a roast, but i need my thermometer and a thing to check the liquids at the joints.
