I noticed one of our local supermarkets is now carrying exotic meat including python, wild boar, ostrich, and a few other unusual proteins...but I haven't cooked any!

I wish I could get some ostrich. I love ostrich...
We have various exotic meats in our freezer - zebra, springbok, camel, crocodile, python... never a dull meal...

PYTHON?! I'm surprised it's legal to sell it - I don't know if it would be here!

i was yelled at for trying to take a photo of it in a Malaysian market. likely illegally wild caught. i'm very happy we weren't invited to visit the python farms in vietnam. the crocodile farm was bad enough. maybe ask around south east asian restaurants? it's quite popular in the chinese community in malaysia, but i've never seen it on any menus.

it's probably very muscular being a constrictor? well, i was curious so i looked it up. apparently you have to cook it before you cook it! do let us know how it went. your other exotic meats in the freezer are also nice. my favs are ostrich, springbok, kudu, kangaroo to name a few. have never seen alpaca in northern hermisphere. i had it in Peru and Bolivia... unforgetable!

i have a friend who's moved to france--he and his wife are trying to start an alpaca farm. i'm staying in touch, hoping to get invited for quality control. i miss ostrich; i think a market visit will be on the to do list our first weekend back in the uk.

I must say that's one thing I've not tried. I'm very lucky that the local specialist butcher in Reading stocks kangaroo, croc, ostrich as well as the "usual" game stuff here like bambi, bunny and the like. Looking forward to autumn so I can make some stuff with game again

the man joined a shooting club, so last year we ate a fair bit of game. thankfully, i no longer have to do the bird gutting. i pointed out that if he was manly enough to shot it, he was manly enough to stick his hand up the butt. i don't like stuff that's been left hanging too long, to me the 'gamey' smell is too much like manure.

Damn, I thought this was about the well known scripting language. I could help you with that sort of python.
