If money was no object and you were planning a trip for two weeks with two young children, to renew your wedding vows where in Thailand would you stay? Resort and accommodation.

Depends when and what sort of experience you wanted: Beach = www.amanresorts.com/amanpuri/home.aspxHills = www.fourseasons.com/chiangmai/?source=chiangmaiblhotelThere are other more isolated luxury resorts, but I'd go somewhere like these if I had to take the kids. If it were me, I'd probably go somewhere like here: www.soneva.com/soneva-kiri/homeThere are a lot to choose from though, so I'd probably work out what I wanted to do, then choose from there (ie, do you want to be active outside the resort? Then go somewhere like Phuket or Chiang Mai / do you want to stay in the resort? then I'd go to one of the islands)

Aman Puri looks lovely! Soneva is my ideal, but my husband has never been to Thailand so he wants to experience similar things I did (Pad Thai on cushions on the beach and a cold Chang) etc, whist staying somewhere luxurious, iykwim.
Basic criteria is - - luxury or boutique accommodation, lots of dark wood and a traditional Thai/oriental feel - right on the beach - around £100 a night (man alive, when you're used to Thailand for $9 a night this seems extortion!) - ability to do a small ceremony (just us and the kids) to renew vows on beach - ability to leave the resort easily for a wander and to try out other places to eat at night, with the kids - watersports, non-motorised only
I'm thinking we might do a few nts in Bangkok, few nights in Chaing Mai (although I'm not sure what we'd do here) and then the rest of the two weeks on an island.
I've always homed in on Koh Samui before, but I wonder if that is the right place for us? Has it changed much since I was last there in 2005?!?

Oh gosh, we actually won a fancy trip to a luxury resort in Thailand (didn't go as we had to pay the taxes, and they were frankly exorbitant) and now I can't remember what it was called. Will ask the Mr.
Btw, you have two kids? Somehow had the impression you had one.

100 pounds a night is not "if money is no object", sorry.
And anything could happen in five years - you will have a whole new selection of places to stay in that time.
