I'm fighting something off at the moment. I had a flu jab earlier this year, so while I haven't developed full-blown flu, I have some symptoms including lack of appetite (which is most Unlike me!).
So I've been trying to pander to my every whim, but don't really know what I want to eat. Last night and tonight I'm having a bowl of vegetables with a lemon butter sage "dressing" (for want of a better term). Potatoes, sweet potatoes, asparagus, snow peas, sugar snap peas, baby carrots and broccoli.
What do you make when ours trying to tempt yourself into eating?

Pasta and pesto. I make my own pesto so it's not too oily, but for some reason it's all I can manage.

Scicaro - Snap - but I can't get Heinz here so have to use another brand. Somehow it is just perfect
My other go to is mashed potatoes.

We can buy it in the independent greengrocers that sell spices etc - they are a good source of all sorts of British products including tea.

Yes, Heinz tomato soup (it's called big red here) is perfect and on the list for dinner tonight!
Today I just had cheese and tomato on crackers for lunch.
Pesto wouldn't do it for me I'm afraid - far too rich for my stomach at the moment, although pasta with something like a tomato sauce would be OK (or even better - gnocchi).

The other big one was a chicken soup my mum used to make - boil a whole chicken and add some chicken feet with any/all green leafy veggies, and carrots, make the stock, skim the fat off, shred the chicken and reheat and cook with rice. It was heavenly - so easy to digest.

I thought you were supposed to lay off dairy products when you have an upset stomach. I am ill at the mo' in an achey fluey way and made a huge pot of Russian soup. Veg, including cabbage, carrots, onions, toms with small chunks of garlic sausage and paprika.

Depends on what I have. If I'm flu-ish I often can't eat anything else but buttered white toast or rice.
At the moment I am fighting off a throat infection and I am forcing myself to have lots of fruit and veggies and drink lots of tea with honey.

Haven't had colcannon in ages. My mum used to make it but hers wasn't the "proper" version of colcannon, it was just potatoes and onions. And then on your plate you'd create a volcano and put butter in and the heat of the colcannon would melt the butter. One of my favourite dinners! Sometimes, with a fried egg. Hmmmmm I see colcannon in my future!

What's colcannon?!!?
I thought of you lot yesterday as I slurped my germs away with a bowl of Heinz Tomato Soup. They do a reduced sugar and salt one now which is much nicer, although annoyingly more expensive!

In my house it was mashed potatoes and onion. I think the official version has cabbage or kale in it.

yeah, mashed potato with cabbage and loads of butter and cream - when I was in uni I would get the Tescos luxury version (yeah, really!) every time I was ill and scarf it down.

surfy - do it. It's epic.
You know the way kids are told to not play with their food. I just realised that we totally were encouraged to play with our food. Eating has never been a problem for me!!! Colcannon became a volcano (with molten butter in the centre) Most dinners as kids were potatoes and veg mashed up together and we would turn them into fields with tomoatoe ketchup on top and use the tines of the fork to make drills in the fields. We always ate!
