There is an incredibly narcissistic backpacker, who is incredibly choosy about what jobs he does, dominating the Australia board on LP at the moment. I am waiting to hear what happens when he actually gets here. ;D

I love his posts - they keep me going back. I keep on hoping he is a well thought out troll, as I would hate to think someone could be that pompous and stupid.

I am wondering if we should post a whole lot of misleading answers to his questions.

What would be the point? He ignores the proper answers to his questions if they go against his set ideas anyway.

I was thinking, tell him to go to places where no-one would employ him, or that jobs he suggested pay far more than they do. Howevr, I suspect we won't need to mislead him. He has already misled himself enough already.

And I think he's getting worse. He keeps posting new threads. And telling off the regulars like Groo.

Dunno, maybe LP didn't like my reply of suggesting he try to work as a 'gentleman host' as it was veering into the sex trade, and they are all about clean living these days.

Someone else has obviously got fed up with him as well, brilliant troll post this morning, will c&P here as I doubt it will survive long. Then handle used is bludging_porkypig.
Backpacker Work in Australia: Some Basic Questions Hello everyone. This may be an annoying question to ask as it's been asked before, but why should I search myself when you people can just spoon-feed me? I am honoring your country by visiting soon on a WHV, but first I need to advise you of my special requirements so that you can prepare yourselves for my visit. So get onto the googles peasants because I need some answers pronto.
I am highly experienced and qualified in every field known to man so I will have my pick of positions as my only competition will be from other backpackers and local Australians - and let's face it, you people are barely educated enough to be able to read.
I'm not too fussy. I am willing to take on any menial entry-level job in any field that pays a minimum of $50 per hour. My employer would of course need to supply me with a company car and, because I no longer have a licence, a driver at my disposal.
I completely lack people skills, I view other humans as inferior and unnecessary, so my ideal position would involve no colleagues, no customers or clients, and would permit me to surf the internet at all times. Clearly I work better without supervision. In the unlikely event that I accept a role where I have co-workers, they will be required to address me as "Your Serene Highness" at all times, and of course will be forbidden to attempt to make eye contact with me.
I am qualified in all areas of the artistic endeavours, so if I was required to deal with customers, for example working in a boutique Aboriginal Art Gallery (I'm assuming that your natives do some sort of rubbishy cheap looking art? Finger painting or that sort of thing?) I would be able to lock the doors to prevent customers from entering the gallery.
Teaching English to foreigners is my true passion, so I would expect EFL colleges across your funny little country to be falling all over themselves to avail of my expertise. I work best instructing small groups of clueless foreigners, my basic technique is to let my students sit around in groups and discover the language without intervention from myself as instructor. My role would be to sit at the front of the classroom with a stern look on my face while I surf the internet.
Naturally while working for such low wages I would require my employer to accommodate me. I would be happy to live in a large luxury apartment in the poshest part of any major city. Of course maid service would be welcome, but not necessary as I am willing to rough it by placing my own laundry in a basket awaiting my employer's wife or children to collect it and clean it for me. I am a strict vegetarian, so ideally you would prepare my meals in a separate kitchen, untainted by animal products.
And please, I will not work for or with anyone with a horrible Australian accent.
Please ensure that the weather is perfect. I am coming for a year from next March and I don't want any extreme temperatures. A little rain is acceptable as long as it doesn't interfere with my surfing of the interwebs.
I look forward to hearing from people with experience in helping me achieve my dreams. I look forward to telling you why any advice or information you may give me is incorrect.

Love it! I had a quick look, and several of the original Porky's threads may have been lifted too. The advantage of this board, of course, is that it is not moderated by the BBC.

Late to the discussion (as always), but I did notice the posts. They seem to have gone now. What I cannot understand is that both bazza and daycat have survived and are permitted to keep posting. Wtf?
Also, call me a cynic, but there seems to be an overwhelming majority of posters who have only ever posted once (their OP) and they never return to keep any conversation going. They are all fakes. LP are posting them to make it look like a live site. The OPs are all sickeningly sweet and polite too. Just way too obvious.

i very nearly replied to one yesterday before thinking... hang on. why didn't this come up when i was searching before christmas? it's clearly been redated, noticeable as it references another conversation on a board i use, and that particular conversation is very very hard to find--it was popular well over a year ago.
