I've been experimenting with different breakfast options lately, in a bid to not slip into the winter toast, butter, jam rut.
So far I've done this:
One egg omelet with zucchini and sweet potato and tomatoes Porridge with fruit and a teaspoon of golden syrup Burghul soaked in treacle/star anise flavoured water with fruit and yoghurt
The last one I had this morning and it was very, very delicious.
What else can I try that also has a fairly low amount of fat/sugar - I don't mind some, just not a lot - so pancakes with crispy bacon and maple syrup is probably not a great option!

Sometimes I do the cold meat and cheese on a bread roll or toast for breakfast. Still toast, but it stops the jam and vegemite rut.

Nope. Coffee. Sometimes cereal, quite boring.
Sorry, can't help much.

Another plain Jane at breakfast. Weekends sometimes poached eggs but more often cereal or porridge if it's cold.

I never get sick of an egg on toast (one slice). Fry egg in small nonstick pan while toast cooks. Easy and fills me til lunch time, if I can show some restraint.

Bowl of yogurt with 2-3 table spoons of organic muesli. It's healthy and filling. I honestly don't understand people making a fuss over breakfast (except when they're on holiday or something).

I sometimes make Harcha, a breakfast bread, pan fried, made out of 2 cups of medium semolina, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, half a cup of flower, a pinch of salt, 1 small cup of olive oil, 3 eggs, pinch of salt.
Mix together till it gets the consistency of firm porridge, spread evenly in pan. Fry. eat. Very good with olive oil, jam, honey or just warm.
Tomatoes fried with mozzarella with fresh bread.
French toast.
Avocado, banana, milk and drip of honey smoothy.
The Burgul one sounds nice, might try that this weekend.

I eat the same thing every day. Homemade raw muesli, a teaspoon of cinnamon, fresh blueberries and raspberries with organic vanilla yoghurt. It is extremely healthy and taste fantastic.

Mo - Fri - mixed cereal with little bit of milk and blue/raspberries Weekend - usually fresh croissants with rosehip jam
I tend to have bacon and eggs for lunch at weekends as my main meal is at dinner...
Not much variation with breakfast unless I travel, but it works for me!

Thanks! I think I can at least do that recipe! *trots off to Moroccan supermarket to find ingredients, wondering what "spelt" in arabic is...*

You could always substitute it with something else Leanut. Spelt is épeautre in French, I bet the Moroccans will know what you mean.
That muesli has been a winner for me for 2 years now, with low fat yoghurt. And you can just swop the dried fruits you put into it every now and then to keep it interesting. Last year when I had many charries laying around I dried them, chopped them up and added them to the muesli. NOM.

Dorset cereal brand muesli (lowest sugar content I can find in the shops here) plus a tablespoon of chia bran, plus s/s milk
like the toast and egg idea though - might have time for that in the mornings

@ria, I know you posted the homemade muesli recipe somewhere, but I can't find it. Maybe it was on the tree? Could you do it again please, I'd like to try it! Mine changes depending on what I have at home but it's roughly: 400g rolled oats 100g almonds 100g chia seeds 100g flaxseeds 100g pumpkin seeds 100g sunflower seeds 40g psyllium husk As said I eat it with vanilla yoghurt with a teaspoon of cinnamon and also some fresh blueberries and raspberries. Gorgeous - like dessert for breakfast :-) The "raw" is because most muesli is baked with honey and/or oil which makes it even more unhealthy.

All thise things sound divine.
Instead, every day I eat 1/2 cup of Kashi 7-grain Puffs with a sprinkling of granola on top and a cup of coffee. I get up at 5 a.m., which is way too early for creativity or actual cooking.
