I really enjoy watching his series and recognise many places in them. The series bring back so many fond memories of eating and travelling in SE Asia.
He seems to be a tender young man and is supremely popular in OZ in the food scene, is he not? He's lucky in that his researchers have done all the hard work for him. We ate every well and cheaply with a guide book and phrase book all on our own.
Now I long to visit SE Asia again... (am 'afraid' of mozzies and the heat but never the food)
Miso hungry! (Japan in sept-oct)

He's currently doing a French series, showing the similarities between French and Vietnamese food - the French not only colonised VN, but left their mark with food, too.
I find it's not quite as good as the VN or Mekong series, not sure why not, perhaps there's the language barrier, although that was there in some countries in SE Asia too. The food is good, but it just somehow misses the mark.
He is a natural presenter though.

Should be interesting. France has the biggest Vietnamese community in Europe, there should be no problem with contacts and translators.
I have to wait a bit til it's available for download. Yep, he's a natural presenter for sure. And I like how he just squats on the pavement and cooks up a storm.
