I'm a fan of any food with the word 'magic' in it.

I think it's more that many of you come from a similar cultural backround, which shows in similar comfy foods!
Any form of potatoes doesn't feature on my list - I can take them or leave them, and if I have them (in any form - chips, mash…) once a month it's a lot. Usually just when I go out. Or am at home and my Mum makes dumplings…
Comfort food for me: - Beef broth with noodles and little liver dumplings, and some dark sour dough rye bread with my favourite cold cuts, alternatively a fresh lye pretzel with butter - Pasta dishes in all forms, ideally with lots of cheese - certain german family dishes, like my Mum's sour roast (it's so good I could cry), or pork loin with wild mushroom sauce, both with potatoe dumplings…Actually just a potatoe dumpling with sauce can be heaven.

ice with butter and sugar???
like ice cubes or crushed ice? I've never heard of that combination before. (is it a typo? .... should be it rice? - it is the only ~ice word that i can think of that makes sense)

Fresh bread and salty butter!!!!! All day, every day!! And a mug of full fat, lukewarm milk. Heavenly mana. And, of course, anything chocolatey, and Beef Bourg or Fois Gras.
