I just checked my passport.
If we go to both Cambodia & Vietnam, I won't have enough pages for visas & stamps
We're leaving in less than 2 weeks, so getting an expedited additional pages would be $142 us.
so, i go the the bangkok embassy site & i can get extra pages. It's 80$ us & it takes an hour.

I know which one I'd do.
We've just sent our passports off for visas. My new passport has 4 years left on it. I guess it's not so new any more!

had a really funny adventure at the us embassy
at the lao border, an american girl was crying bc the officials wouldnt let her into the country bc she didn't have enough space in her passport
she wouldn't listen to my advice about going to the us consulate in chiang mai & getting the extra pages put in

and she didn't have a spare US$5 sitting around?!
I and three others sat around at the border between Cambodia and Laos for at least half a day because the officials were asking us all to pay US$5 to get in to Laos (pure bribe). They were more stubborn than we were in the end. I thought Cambodia was supposed to be the corrupt country.

i didn't stick around for the bribe part
she was whimpering in her cell by that time
the lao officials were nailing everyone that day
people got the no visa photo extra charge, too
