I will have half a Friday and probably another full day and evening after the weekend there next month. Unfortunately friends who live there are away :-( and will read up a bit of course, but any favourite places I should really go see? (we have no one in switzerland, right?)

There used to be Zezl, but I am not sure where in Switzerland she is.
H_L and me went to Zürich last year, just ater Christmas for a day. I loved it. The old town is very pretty and it's right by the water, so that's good for some nice walks I think.
Keep in mind that Zürich is HORRIBLY expensive though.

oh, the old town sounds nice. good. and yes, I'm expecting it to be expensive  I'm hoping to be able to stay at friends' for part of the time at least. (and it's missing on your website! same for my other fall destination - St. Petersburg. useless ;-)) |

Nah, I was only in Zürich for a few hours and it was foggy (no good pics possible). So that's useless for making a city guide.
Would LOVE to make cityguides on both Zürich and especially St Petersburg! Ah, dreaming...
Better go to Istanbul, I have many nice blogs on the way for Istanbul.

no one's getting married in Istanbul so that's out for now.
if you want to do another 'local in...' for Zürich to make up for lack of other information, happy to connect you to my Dutch friend who now lives there (since last summer)
