Does anyone have any recommendations of budget accommodation in Chicago?  I'm at the beginning stage of my research and am totally open to any suggestions as far as what area is best to stay in.  As long as I'm close to public transport I'm happy!

We stayed here: www.daysinnchicago.net/ Very nice. It's not in the centre of town but there is a frequent bus service right around the corner.
