i see a lot of recipes for 'crispy duckling' but then the ingredients say, 'a large duck.'
do ducklings have the fat content for crispy duck.`

i mean, honestly. a duck is a full grown bird, rather heavy. a duckling is a cute little fluffy thing that waddles.

Full-grown ducks waddle when on land.
Ducks are typically slaughtered at about 7 to 8 weeks of age, a little older than most chickens. Fair enough to call them ducklings at that age, I think.

i suppose. but annoying that they use two different terms for the same thing. none of my british cookbooks refer to duckling,

To me, crispy duckling means crispy skin, irrespective of the size of the bird.
