Do you all like a specific style of meal on a Sunday?
It's a bit of a tradition in our house to have a roast dinner with all the trimmings. Being Pesces this usually consists of stuffed mushrooms, nut roasts etc and steamed veg, gravy, yorkie puds, roast potatoes and parsnips.
Tonight we're having veggie burgers with grilled halloumi and avocado and skinny fries, for a change and I have to say it feels a little odd. Maybe I'm just a food creature of habit.
How about you?

In the winter we often have a roast on Sundays (not always though). In the summer hardly ever. Today we had roast chicken, roast potatoes, carrots and celery, and peas. Usually I make Yorkshire puds regardless of the meat (someone told me once that you're only meant to have them with beef but I grew up with northern parents who ate them with every roasted meat).
Growing up we ate roast dinner every single Sunday afternoon (about 2pm) without fail. We would then have supper early evening, which was sandwiches then (home made) cake. Every.single.Sunday.

I just wondered; do you eat your Sunday main meal at the same time every week? I don't but, as I just said, we did as kids.

God no, we can never commit to a set meal time! Even the dog is fed at varying hours!

Mr Stick likes to do a roast on Sundays. Usually a chicken, sometimes belly pork, occasionally beef. Always gravy and roast veg. Sometimes I'm even allowed to help. Tonight though he took me out to a local restaurant for a 'last supper'. £30 for three courses each, yummy yummy. It does feel a bit off not having our usual home made meal though.

We only do a roast on Christmas or if family is visiting. Growing up, we always had it at 2pm like cake's family. Last night we had some friends round for dinner. I love having loads of little dishes, but I probably went a bit overboard. I made some jalapeno cheddar bread; beetroot, goat's cheese and red onion quiche; split pea salad with spring greens, tomato, mozzerella and pesto and a green salad with blood orange, blue cheese, walnuts and spinach. For pud we had still warm brownies with homemade blood orange sorbet. It was rather gorgeous, just a shame I was so knackered from spending the whole day cooking!

I like to make a good larger dinner on Sun and then there are leftovers for Mon. Last 2 days though I ate sort of big and need to lighten it up. Feeling clueless. Maybe soup?

As kids we used to have a sunday roast every week as long as my granny lived - different types though, always with fresh potato dumplings. And lunch was 12 a clock without a fail:)
I don't tend to bother with it as I live on my own - the idea of cooking a whole roast meal and then sitting down on my own doesn't appeal. I sometimes go out with friends to the local pub for a sunday roast though. And when I am at home visiting I always get my favourite sour roast, but we do tend to eat warm in the evenings nowadays.

We used to have either roast chicken with rice (or potato puree), and peach compote, or pork, sauerkraut, and dumplings. And a homemade cake, of course.
