I am looking at a city break in either Amsterdam or London over the Easter weekend. I have never been to Amsterdam but there is so much to see and do in London and I can catch up with friends too. We can always do Amsterdam later in the year.
Anyway ..... I have no idea of places to stay in London. I would normally stay on a friends floor but we are going to be grown ups and get our own room! Where do you stay in London? We would be mainly eating and visiting art galleries.
Alternatively, places to stay in Amsterdam? We like to be centralish and I wouldn't want to spend much more than a hundred a night as its only somewhere to put your head down for the night.

I loved our time in Amsterdam last year, even though it rained pretty much the whole time! We don't really use hotels any more travelling with small child, it worked out cheaper and nicer for us to get an apartment. We were round the corner from a place I wouldn't recommend at all - avoid the Hans Bricker Hotel! For London, do you want to stay in a hotel or do something special like the one fine stay places - when you first look they always hideously expensive, but by using the filters and putting in the dates you can find good bargains. The place we had in London was fantastic, though you wouldn't need anything that large. www.onefinestay.com/london/central-london/#start_date=&end_date=&sleeps=2&bathrooms=&bedrooms=&auto_refresh=on&sort=price+asc&tags=&page=1

They look great, but I can't find anything under 250 a night for Easter. M is leaning towards London rather than Amsterdam, just because he would rather train it than fly.

Oh yeah, didn't stop to remember Easter usually bumps the price up!
Poppy might know some hotels - the last time we had a hotel in London was over 5 years ago, so the places have probably changed a bit since then.

Also, there is an Easter meet-up happening in London if you're around and fancy it.
Cookie always stays in Bloomsbury, I think, when she comes to London. It's close to the British Museum if that is good for you. She might come in with some suggestions.

Yes, close to the British museum is good. I suppose Easter might be a problem - I stupidly didn't think everyone bumped their prices up. A lot of the trips to Amsterdam were more expensive because of Easter, but not all.

Awww smidgen cuddles would be fab! M wants to see the Manet exhibition at the RA and we might go to the comedy club. Fab, now I get to look at restaurant websites for hours.
